First ran across JA when he was opening for the Irish Rovers in Montreal in the early 70's. Loved his music and performances. Used to attend the tapings of his TV show and the CFCF studios at 405 Ogalvie. Last time we saw him was a year or so before his passing at a pub on Bishop Street in Montreal. Still the same wonderful JA. Too bad some of the cretins in the pub would not shut up and enjoy.

We miss him!

Took John Allan and some of his friends on a skidooing trip at Bay D'Espoir Nfld once--he was nothing short of a gentleman--with a very fine sense of humor ----always loved him as an entainer long before that time-around (1985 I think)

This would be another favorite song of mine. I think I still like Carl's version on his Pirate Songs, Sea Songs, & Shanties cd.

I had the pleasure of meeting John Allan Cameron several times. He was a lovely down to earth man. I loved his singing, and his sense of humour. I have a picture of me on his knee, it hangs on my fridge. God bless you John Allan, you are missed.

Mr. Cameron, as I knew him taught me at Catholic Central High School in London, Ontario when I was in grade 10 or 11, that would be 1966 or 67. He never sang in class and it is spooky to look at him here. He was so skinny back then and now he's gone...sheesh.
