sorry. Turkey is attached to the Europe caucasian area by the Black sea on the eastern side. There is no waters separating Turkey on the eatern side of the Causacian european countries, and only a bridge connecting to the western side, going easily to Bulgaria or Greece cannot make Turkey part of another big part of another continent

a continent must be separated from others by waters cannot be crossed from a bridge. You can go to Turkey easily with a car just normally from Greece or from turning around of the Black sea. The land is attached to Europe from the western side. To be in another continent, Turkey would have to be separated form Caucase, with no bridge connecting to other part.

Europe is not a real Continent. It is not covered by water by all sides. Europe is more of a cultural concept. Which is why Cyprus is a member of the EU even it though is closer to the Asian part of Eurasia.

Another evidence to back up my quest to prove that 1984 was not as poor a year as it's got a reputation for. This Turkish melody is one of their few top-notch 80s efforts; a very captivating song, great chorus and imo a nice performance. It's about the Halay, a traditional dance in Turkey, and I love the dance routine the quartet embed into the performance. And to the think the Herrey's won in a year with entries like this.

One of the best and most underrated Turkish entries of the 80s and certainly a very interesting song in an otherwise poor year, though I must say that this performance is kind of disappointing - mainly because of the flat-sounding orchestra, which has little to do with the SOARING arrangement (complete with traditional organs) of the studio version.

Well, at first, I wouldn't agree it's the best Italian entry ever - a very good one, yes, but I don't think it compares with, say, Gigiola Cinquetti's two amazing entries. That said, it was indeed a worthy song (one of my favorites in '84, along with Ireland and this one), but these 3 were the best in one of the poorest years in ESC history, when even some of my personal favorites like France and Luxembourg disappointed. That the winner was "Diggi-loo Diggi-ley" is quite telling, I think :-)

The song is not bad at all, but the Turkish entey of the next year (1985) is much better. In my opinion, the entry of MFO, diday diday day - is one of the best entries of the ESC during the 80's. It sounds good even now, 22 years after ESC85.
