  • A-MAZING-- I grew up on the poorer end of Nils' neighborhood- about 20 minutes away and was also maybe 10-15 years younger than him. I do remember sneaking in- a 13-14 year old gal who had a LOT of much older but OK friends, so I got to see Nils with Grin, too. If Id been about 5 yrs older I might have been able to see Jimi play.

  • I was at the Hendrix show Aug 67 at Ambassador - he was there 4 or 5 nights. A friend Rosemary called me "Chris, you have to come see this guy, he's amazing!" that night I rode bus from VA-DC another bus to Dupont Circle walked up 19th in my day-glo orange rubber boots I made in 10th grade art class. He lit the guitar on fire as part of the show. His music blew my 15yr old mind - I searched out his album, Experienced the next day. I was amazed that the place was not even full that night.

  • @chlpatent Just want to add that about a year later, my older sister Linda brought the house band, the Natty Bumpo over to my parents' house to live in the detached garage/cottage for a few months. A nice group of people and a pretty good band too. They did a good version of 'Sitting around in circles" as I recall.

  • damn. how did i miss this event? where was it? how was it advertised?

  • LOOOOOVE JIMI And REALLY LOOOVE NILS LOFGREN, one of the most low key world class guitarists and pianists, amongst other things, an amazing person too-
