I love this song!!! The same creator of Hi-5 Australia (Helena Harris), created Hi-5 America. They wanted another version for american kids. I like both versions. I think each group have its own charm and strenght.

Then I looked at Hi-5 stuff on the internet.

Australian Hi-5 started in '98, I think.

And American Hi-5 started in '03. :-)

'99 actually. They formed and planned their show in '98. Close enough. To be honest I'm not a fan of Hi-5 but my I have to watch it with my godbrother all the time!

Hi-5 was created in Australia by Channel 9 to counteract the success of The Wiggles on a rival television station. The Australian version were the first and Original Hi-5 team, and only after seeing the success of The Wiggles overseas did they franchise the idea and sell it overseas. America was the first franchise but Hi-5 will always be an Australian concept.
