that rotor noise - one of the most iconic sounds in the world. totally unmistakable. am i right in saying that the reason it makes that distinct sound is because the rotor blade is breaking the speed of sound, creating a sonic boom??

Actually it came from Seattle, Washington in the US. It was in some sort of parts shop and when they originally got this heli it had no engine or dials for the controls.
