OMG!!! The fugue is exceptionally well done!!! Thanks..... I reckon this is what one can do with Bach on a fitting and well appointed instrument... :)
This was painful listening. Where's the fire? I understand that the definition of art is "whatever you can get away with," but bring the tempo back to reality.
I do not understand most anything this organist is choosing to do. The reed in the fugue is very, very unusual for Bach playing. Also, the tempo is way too fast. The reed in the pedal later in the fugue can't keep up, not to mention the fact that the whole thing becomes muddled, making it difficult to hear the intricate counterpoint. A beautiful piece gone sadly wrong.
It is not always all around the right tempo. Music is an art, and can be interpreted in the most diverse ways. That is why I hate the scholar point of view.
Let me be the first to say that I am no scholar. I am simply a fellow organist. Perhaps it was a bit much to say the piece had gone wrong, I think that clarity is always something to strive for in baroque music; this is even a fugue for mercy's sake! Here, it's all about the counterpoint, and it's near impossible to hear it in certain places with the fast tempo. Music interpretation is an art, but so is the composition itself and I think musicians should respect that as well while interpreting.
Bzz126 it's a good thing tastes are so different. I play this piece in the same tempo and I always learned it's pretty common to play it that way. Anyway... it sounds beautifull on this very impressive organ. Can't wait to visit Poland next year. Hopefully I have the opportunity to play there :)

I like the bass run at 3:29. Its a agressive twist and perfect accent to the subject.

I hate to agree with the negative postings, but when you have nothing to say, it's best to say it fast (it's over more quickly).

What a marvellous instrument - I could wish it were as well-known as the more famous contemporary organs of the Netherlands.

Kto cie uczył form polifonicznych Mr "organistko"??

Dear Kami, Favorites should be plural in the sense you used it in your subtitle.

Again , a top performance by a gifted organist ...
The sound quality is good and the majestic instrument grandiose.
Long live my wall of subs reproducing the world's most majestic musical instrument.

The organ is beutiful, but why is the fugue so fast? And why is some reed used in manual?
organskr 2 years ago
Absolutely beautiful organ....is played too fast though, much of the beauty of this piece gets buried.

That organ is the most amazing thing I have ever heard in my life. May it be treasured for things of that beauty are no longer made.
