For example, shotguns with cylindrical actions are banned. Why? It doesn't effect how the gun itself works. You can kill someone with a pump shotgun as easily as a Striker. Just got the email from my ammo supplier sportsmansguide, the law was shot down in court and for now we can still mail order cheaper ammunition in bulk, from out of state. As unbelieveable as it may seem I think the US is going to have a currency melt down as many countries are conspiring to remove the dollar as the international trade standard thus the dollar may inflate into worthless. You will need firearms and ammo to survive the chaos.

There were 3 separate lawsuits attacking AB 962, two Fed and 1 State level suits. Both Federal suits were tossed out as the Judge didn't consider the issue "ripe" and no actual damage had occurred yet. AB 962's shipment controls were preempted by the FAAAA, with a SCOTUS decision directly on point of the shipping issue. They would have been refiled.
The State *may* appeal, but until then and if the ruling is overturned, AB 962 is kaput.
Thankfully the legal system put this bill down. However, it should never have been an issue in the first place. We still have a lot of work to do to change minds, educate people, and get the correct people elected to represent us.
For now, however, we will celebrate this victory :)
AB962 was repealed today by a Superior Court Judge. Just days before AB962 would of been effective a Judge ruled it un-Constitional. CA things are starting to turn around, there's hope for CA.

Actually Nutn, that IS NOT what the gun-show loophole is. The loophole refers to the fact that retailers at a gun-show can sell firearms to collectors without a background check.
I love my second amendment rights and advocate the arming of responsible adults, but don't say that the loophole doesn't exist, because I've seen it happen with my own two eyes at gun-shows that I frequent.

Few years ago one of the state legislators was against changing cw permits to make it some what easier to get them. I caught him in front of a news camera spouting his crap. Along with some gun control people.

i have been out of shooting for some years now and just recently got back into the sport. i am amazed at thes cali laws. i have lived hear for 25 years and remember buying my first muzzle loader at a gun show. now i cant do that! not only is the price of ammo crazy, but now i may have to go through a back ground check to get it. dam! i guess i have to move to another state. maybe one where i can get a CCW.

These laws won't work and they have NOT worked. The criminals will just get all their stuff from the black market (which will never go away). These laws will not save lives, they will cause more deaths because lawful citizens won't be able to shoot back at the bad guy. If you really care about safety, legally get a gun so you can kill the bad guy before he causes another Columbine or Virginia Tech. I just moved to Arizona from California a few months ago for a job that ended up not working out. Job market is tough here in AZ, I have been getting calls from CA employer's for interviews though. I just started accepting moving back to Cali, putting "bullet buttons" on my recently purchased rifles and at least enjoying the California scenery and my family which I do miss. This AB962 will not work because criminals will buy amo from another state and bring it to California, or they'll smuggle amo from another country (where most of the gangs are from) into the U.S., since we lack border security.

I think making your own ammo is now the way to go in California. You can buy all the equipment for around $300! Save a great deal of money in ammo and cut out the government intrusion....no finger printing and records kept when you make your own ammo!

I plan on picking up ammo at Cabela's in Boomtown next summer....if they have any in stock, but I fear they will not since I will not be the only one with that idea. You may consider taking up reloading. I mentioned in a post in this site. It is not hard to do. I don't know what hassles there is in getting the gun cans of gun powder, but should not be a problem compared to getting ammo.
If Cabela's is like any other good capitalistic institution they will have the foresight to double stock their border stores;) Why miss out on al that extra profit?

I work at a large sporting goods retailer and have recently seen carts of ammo going out the door for relatives in Kalifornia. Great for our businesss here, bad for dudes down there. Take up reloading! I had a friend who used to do that. You only need about three or four equipment tools, one is a tube that holds the empty casing and loads the measured gun powder, another tool that loads the primer and shell, and some sifting bowel that vibrates full with some coffee like material to clean the shell casings. He was able load his ammo like an assembly line in minutes! I am thinking of doing that.

I dont doubt that there are many people in this country who would love take our guns. I just have a hard time making the connection between implimenting new gun laws(no matter what they may be) and how said gun laws are the beginning of a some sort of liberal takeover, it just seems like paranoia to me. In a state where guns were required to be registered, like in New Jersey and NYC, and then they decide to ban possession, all those who registered will receive notices to turn in there guns, or get them out of the state..just as the case with NYC and New Jersey when they banned semi auto rifles. In California, they will simply bust the person if caught with the gun.
You lack a basic understanding of the history of gun control. All available statistics show weapons in the right hands lower crime of all types, and that regardless of any laws criminals will obtain the weapons they desire. I'm 13, and living in CA just sucks, to have your rights taken away just because something looks aesthetically "frightening"
For example, shotguns with cylindrical actions are banned. Why? It doesn't effect how the gun itself works. You can kill someone with a pump shotgun as easily as a Striker. So why ban one specific type? Same thing with Bayonets. It shoots bullets for god's sake. Same thing with pistol grips on rifles. Grenade launcher sights. You name it, it's banned.

Just got the email from my ammo supplier sportsmansguide, the law was shot down in court and for now we can still mail order cheaper ammunition in bulk, from out of state. As unbelieveable as it may seem I think the US is going to have a currency melt down as many countries are conspiring to remove the dollar as the international trade standard thus the dollar may inflate into worthless. You will need firearms and ammo to survive the chaos.

There were 3 separate lawsuits attacking AB 962, two Fed and 1 State level suits. Both Federal suits were tossed out as the Judge didn't consider the issue "ripe" and no actual damage had occurred yet. AB 962's shipment controls were preempted by the FAAAA, with a SCOTUS decision directly on point of the shipping issue. They would have been refiled.
The State *may* appeal, but until then and if the ruling is overturned, AB 962 is kaput.

Thankfully the legal system put this bill down. However, it should never have been an issue in the first place. We still have a lot of work to do to change minds, educate people, and get the correct people elected to represent us.

AB962 was repealed today by a Superior Court Judge. Just days before AB962 would of been effective a Judge ruled it un-Constitional. CA things are starting to turn around, there's hope for CA.

Actually Nutn, that IS NOT what the gun-show loophole is. The loophole refers to the fact that retailers at a gun-show can sell firearms to collectors without a background check.
I love my second amendment rights and advocate the arming of responsible adults, but don't say that the loophole doesn't exist, because I've seen it happen with my own two eyes at gun-shows that I frequent.

These laws won't work and they have NOT worked. The criminals will just get all their stuff from the black market (which will never go away). These laws will not save lives, they will cause more deaths because lawful citizens won't be able to shoot back at the bad guy. If you really care about safety, legally get a gun so you can kill the bad guy before he causes another Columbine or Virginia Tech. I just moved to Arizona from California a few months ago for a job that ended up not working out. Job market is tough here in AZ, I have been getting calls from CA employer's for interviews though. I just started accepting moving back to Cali, putting "bullet buttons" on my recently purchased rifles and at least enjoying the California scenery and my family which I do miss. Factually speaking, Gov. Schwarzenegger is term limited and therefore will not be up for reelection. I only mention the correction and it's important to not be perceived in anyway as another ACLU type that chases ambulances for the sake of the story and cause. Great video. There's no way to own a handgun in Canada without the goverment to know about, unless its grandfathered. Just to transport your handgun you need two forms (some places hard to obtain). mlacey, back in the last 1980's, we had a good Sheriff by the of Winters that would issue Concealed weapon permits and the leftist anti gun newspaper did a smear campaign on him over it. It was the San Jose Mercury News and they wanted the name and addresses of all the permit holders! He said "No" and they took him to court...and won! And then the Scumbag paper started calling permit holders as to why they needed a permit! Some replied "Fuck you"! as I would have done!

I think making your own ammo is now the way to go in California. You can buy all the equipment for around $300! Save a great deal of money in ammo and cut out the government intrusion....no finger printing and records kept when you make your own ammo!

Now because of this bill my order from cabelas has been on back order for about 10 months. This bill is only the beginning and sooner or later this kind of thinking will spread like a disease through out our nation with similar ridiculous mandates. We need to nip it in the bud. I plan on picking up ammo at Cabela's in Boomtown next summer....if they have any in stock, but I fear they will not since I will not be the only one with that idea. You may consider taking up reloading. I mentioned in a post in this site. It is not hard to do. I don't know what hassles there is in getting the gun cans of gun powder, but should not be a problem compared to getting ammo.

Since the Republik of Kalifornia passed it's most recent outrageous antigun law we have seen a upsurge in ammo purchases in Utah. I work at a large sporting goods retailer and have recently seen carts of ammo going out the door for relatives in Kalifornia. Great for our businesss here, bad for dudes down there. Also a new interest in reloading. I personally sold 5 reloaders last week. Fight!

Take up reloading! I had a friend who used to do that. You only need about three or four equipment tools, one is a tube that holds the empty casing and loads the measured gun powder, another tool that loads the primer and shell, and some sifting bowel that vibrates full with some coffee like material to clean the shell casings. He was able load his ammo like an assembly line in minutes! I am thinking of doing that.

I dont doubt that there are many people in this country who would love take our guns. I just have a hard time making the connection between implimenting new gun laws(no matter what they may be) and how said gun laws are the beginning of a some sort of liberal takeover, it just seems like paranoia to me. Not to mention the amount of manpower you would need you would need to even try to start any sort of gun repossession.

warparty, they will not go to door to door reposessing guns. It all depends. In a state where guns were required to be registered, like in New Jersey and NYC, and then they decide to ban possession, all those who registered will receive notices to turn in there guns, or get them out of the state..just as the case with NYC and New Jersey when they banned semi auto rifles. In California, they will simply bust the person if caught with the gun.

You lack a basic understanding of the history of gun control. All available statistics show weapons in the right hands lower crime of all types, and that regardless of any laws criminals will obtain the weapons they desire. The stricter gun controls are the bigger the black market is. Why else would these people push for more and more draconian laws when they are proven ineffective. Also, do some research on gun confiscation in California. You will see why some people question the true agenda.
