Engine mods/bhp - Catcams 708's, head work, remap, enclosed filter, magnex system + decat, milltek 4/2/1 manifold = 160bhp.
Suspension/handling - Bilstein sport dampers, -30mm H&R springs, torsion bar adj. 20mm, sparco upper + lower braces, F1 gsd3's, stripped interior.
As for the sloppy looking gearstick......it's french mate, they all come like that as standard! Steering seemed fine to me though, maybe a bit on the light side, but very precise.
Yeah, I could hear the limiter. If you were doing 72, I was probably nowhere near 75, more like high 60's I'd imagine. I'll try to post some video next time I'm there.
I was hitting 72mph through the speed trap at kames in my vts. Yeah, I also used 3rd briefly just before the hairpin which felt quicker. I was bouncing it of the limiter in 2nd in my first few runs lol.
Nice selection of cars you've owned there mate. Still see lotus sunbeams on a few of the trackdays i've done over the past couple of years. Awesome cars! I bet your bike would be seriously quick down the straight (ish) bit at kames. What was your trap speed in your corolla, just out of interest?
I think I'd be lucky to get outta 2nd gear on the bike (90 odd mph)
We didn't have any proper timing equipment....I was into 3rd gear in the Corolla for a few seconds till just by the kink.....probably 75mph or something. Second peaks out at 60mph.
I also used third to go round the bend before the hairpin (a short shift)....it felt faster than hanging onto second and changing up.
That's wot I thought, despite it's speed (0-60 2.5 sec. 170mph) Cos it's a bit of a handful on twisties!!Would love to go round Kames on some of the cars I used to have (Phaeton 2.0, Chevette HSR, Sunbeam Lotus)
Should be interesting doing kames on a bike. I wouldn't have thought you'd go round quicker than on 4 wheels though, as the track seems too small and twisty imo. I hope i'm wrong though! Yeah, keep us posted. Cheers.
I heard when I was there , last Sunday 22 July, they may be letting bikes on soon. I've got an old ZX10, and thought about taking it round....hoping for a low 90's...I don't take chances on bikes.....I'll keep you posted....
Funnilly enough, it was a fireblade engined westie that was quickest at our event running a 92.??. A vts engined, 650kg, slick shod 160 bhp AX also managed a 92.?? My quickest time was 97.04.... 4th quickest overall.
nice mate, only thing i would say is the stearing and gearbox, they aint that tight looking, lots of play with the gearstick
what mods/bhp does it have?

Cheers. Fastest thing on our day out was a Fireblade engined "rage".....93 secs. best guess...nothing came close.

Recently been round there, and 97.79 secs. seems very fast!
Was it standard?.....power...tyres...weight....
I was about 108 in a bog standard 90bhp corolla.
RREKGENIUS 4 years ago
Not standard. 160bhp, road tyres (Goodyear F1's), 850kg (est.) and uprated suspension/brakes. The circuit seemed to suit the car very well.
