im not really sure why you all have spent all this time fighting on youtube, when you could be out purchasing incubus tickets to see them live, because FACT, jose is one of the best drummers of this age, he is self taught, and is in one of the most talented bands, and brandon boyd is one of the most talented singers.

@Chaossangel Yeah when i compare drummers I listen to how creative their beats are and how well they fit the song, also how cool the fills sound and if they fit. Myself as a drummer look to this as inspiration for when I play with my band and write music not how fast I can play and how many things I can hit in a shot time span.

sexton sucks? no. if you knew anything about drumming you would know that his wrist strength is amazing compaired to some drummers. he also has a very different approach, he uses alot of marching/drum corps influence and dynamics in his solos which make them sound really cool

I know what you mean, but to be fair, travis barker is absolutely nasty on the drums. I wouldn't consider him an overrated clown, but I do agree that people like jose don't get the credit they deserve.
Absolutely nasty? Absolutely not. Travis is GOOD at most. A majority of blink songs/travis solos can be played by someone whos only played for 4 to 6 years. Jose has TONS of way harder grooves/solos then travis barker, as do hundreds (even thousands) of other drummers. Travis Barker is constantly referred to as "the best" by people (ussually his undereducated fans) when he doesnt even TOUCH tons of other drummers.
I listen to Incubus songs, and I don't hear any difficult rythyms. They really should make a song that shows everyone what he can really do, because a lot of people that like Incubus have never seen this. I really didn't know he was good until now =P

Its not that he has gained weight its that he is starting to get a beer belly. At a interview Brandon and Mike said that he was really drunk. Over all he is an amazing drummer.
I cant say there is one song on ANY of thier albums I don't like, and them live is just spectacular with the random extra shit in aded to their songs, just after this solo was one of my fav. performances of Everything in Ebb (AKA 4th Movement of the Odyssey from the halo 2 vol 1 album) and I loved it! jose is my biggest influence when drumming. his style is so fresh. he might not be a crazy soloing person but those gigantic drum sets and fast playing gets old just as fast as their drum sticks move. self taught too and if you listen from fungus amongus to now you can tell how much better he has got and even on the early records he displyed lots of fresh and skillful drumming. INCUBUS ROCKS!

i also have the dvd of this.. jose is one of my top 3 favorite drumers.. 1st would be carter beauford, 2nd stewart copeland and 3rd is jose.. mike portnoy would be on my 4th.. hahaha "god of progressive rock.."
I have the red rocks dvd and loved it! This solo is quite good, i wouldn't go as far to say that he's one of the best in the world though. But it is a great solo!

I listen to Incubus songs, and I don't hear any difficult rythyms. They really should make a song that shows everyone what he can really do, because a lot of people that like Incubus have never seen this. I really didn't know he was good until now =P

First i red an article about Brandon,where he mentioned that Jose could be daddy very soon...the next day i red an interview that Brandon gave to Billboard magazine where he talks about the future next solo projects of his and Mikey and in that same interview Brandon confirms that Jose will be a daddy.Go to the band´s site and there you will found too an article about Jose,that he´ll gonna be daddy of a girl.

Its not that he has gained weight its that he is starting to get a beer belly. At a interview Brandon and Mike said that he was really drunk. Over all he is an amazing drummer.

I cant say there is one song on ANY of thier albums I don't like, and them live is just spectacular with the random extra shit in aded to their songs, just after this solo was one of my fav. performances of Everything in Ebb (AKA 4th Movement of the Odyssey from the halo 2 vol 1 album) and I loved it! They are an awesome band, yet they are getting to be abit tooooo popular.... >.> lets kill those bums at MTV and make sure they stop killing good bands!

Too popular? That's crap. You should know Incubus are not and never will be influenced by what is popular and what is in. Incubus make their music for each other and don't let pop culture influence them. At least not in any big way. Any change in their music is completely them and not them selling out or anything. And theirs nothing wrong with them gaining some popularity : P

As for the drum solo ... it's not the best, but then again, it's not the worst. At least he has more dynamics and depth than a Slipknot solo, but he's not quite Dennis Chambers or Tony Royster Jr. That said, I love this band, and you can't change that. :)

Why do you consider me a "lemming" for being an Incubus fan? Maybe I consider you to be a prick for calling me a lemming. That is my opinion. And my opinion on the matter of Mr. Pasillas' drumming is that his solo was performed in the middle of an intense concert, as indicated by the beads of sweat flying from his concentrated face. Thus, in conclusion, I'd like to challenge a high school drummer to match this solo. Case closed.

i come from the old school of rock aka sabbath,purple,priest etc so i don't like just any new band but been listening to incubus now for a couple of weeks & i'm really getting into them, my fav track so far is 'pendulous threads' awesome drum/guitar work, lets have more!

jose is my biggest influence when drumming. his style is so fresh. he might not be a crazy soloing person but those gigantic drum sets and fast playing gets old just as fast as their drum sticks move. self taught too and if you listen from fungus amongus to now you can tell how much better he has got and even on the early records he displyed lots of fresh and skillful drumming. INCUBUS ROCKS!

nice!!jose pasillas is one of the best drummers ever, maybe in soloing situations is not really virtuosic but he got awesome skills in the songs, he is very musical and i think he is a genious, the most important in the drummers is the muscilality. take care compadres, saludos de un batersita mexicano!!

So you're saying that it's metaphysically IMPOSSIBLE for Jose Pasillas to be considered one of the best drummers in the world by a diehard fan just because he didn't make some fucking Rolling Stone 100 top drummers list? What are you thinking? And the comment above did say something about Jose drumming well on the tracks...not just the solos. Research your target before you make your argument.

I have the red rocks dvd and loved it! This solo is quite good, i wouldn't go as far to say that he's one of the best in the world though. But it is a great solo!
