nowone can sound better than steve cause he was the origonal singer and its impossable to be better than the origonal of anything cause then it wouldent be over exaggeration. my point, there will never be a better singer for journey than steve

When Journey lost Perry, they were so blessed to find Augeri. Who to me sounds every bit as good(if not better)as Perry(sounds a little nasally). Steve Augeri and Dean Castronova helped elevate Journey to possibly the best band of all time.Have seen Journey live with both Perry and Augeri,and simply, Augeri was Amazing with Journey.If he would have been before Perry,than people would be saying Perry wasn't as good as Augeri.Sorry you diehard Perry fans.Augeri sounds great live better than Perry

myway48, either of them made a difference for Journey and what a journey this band had over the years. Problem WAS, Perry wanted to move on for himself, without Journey and his comrades had no choice but let him go. So did for Augeri when he got sick. I believe there is no such coincidence. Everything happens for a reason, to put it divinely, to pave way for Pineda.

Yea Arnel can sing ok...but jeez how can anyone say that he sounds like Steve Perry. In my opinion even Steve Augeri didnt sound like Perry. I loved Journey when Augeri was there....to my ears he didnt sound like Steve Perry.....he's great with the ad-libbing which fit in really well with the songs

ARR1289, you are right, nobody can ever be like Perry, such a tough one to follow. But it is good thing that people are able to open doors for any future artist who can readily embrace the Journey and blend well with them. One who not only can sing, but a man who has good spirit, one who can influence his peers to be a better man. I am speaker therefore of Arnel Pineda

I got Journey tickets for Blossom (in Cleveland) for Sept 6th, 2008, So I came to Utube to hear the "new" Journey singer, He's not good, so I wanted to compare him to Steve Augeri. Steve is so much better, Of course Steve Perry is the best in all ways. But I would have to say I'm not thrilled about the direction Journey went here with Arnel. Oh well, at least Heart and Cheap Trick will be there!

I went last year and had a great time, I was so impressed that I went back this year to Youngstown. Arnel has lost any hint of Asain twaing while signing and his articulation was outstanding. He rocked the place, I regret my prejudice. I truely am a believer, Arnel is awesome!
