  • Thanks mate now I can install my Windows XP copy!

  • hi my parents locked MTV and cinemax on our DirecTV. i dont know the password so im trying to hack it. i tried removing the battery like u said in this how to video but now the remote doesnt work.

  • tnx its helps . but in laptop??? do u have any idea?

  • @millexandria091907 its a bit tricky, a laptop has a bios battery but you have to disassemble the whole thing :/ i think i saw somewhere a PCMCIA card that could reset it -google it , hope this helps cheers :)

  • It wasn't this easy on my old IBM R40 (i tried this method).

The password on that model is stored inside a security chip.

It can be read by using a some custom built hardware and software.

I bought the parts for this, but then finally decided to throw the whole thing in the trash.

  • you need to remove battery, wait 10 minutes and then put it back...

  • Comment removed

  • well, everyone knows that getting the battery out and back in is a reset for everything

  • -_- well that's not a hack...

  • AND can it be recovered? Can the password be put on again?

  • What can happen when doing this (I know that the positive thing is to remove the password - but what about the negative things) AND please tell how to fix the (if happened) bad things!

  • Dude, your music is annoying...are you like 80 yrs old er sumthin?

  • It is annoying! It an old vid so i forgot about it, here i audioswaped it :P

  • can this work on a Dell Inspiron 640m??.. please comment me im in a hurry, i gut my nieces births pic their and i wanna take them out =(..

  • i have a dell gx260 and it didnt work what can i do?>

  • just remove the jumper, not the battery. If you have certain speedstepping, or other hardware accelleration options enabled, you could BSoD your box. Just do the jumper removal, it's strictly for the password in BIOS.

  • i did it on like 10 pcs never did anything bad, and it is much easier to find the battery than to find the jumper, plus when you do the jumper thing you need to remove the battery, atleast on 90% of MBOs...

  • ok, dude u freacking rock!!! i did it, beacause to tell everyone, this little ''baterie'' is not dangerous to be remove, it only reset ure security, time, and the thats about it (its sure theres other stuff, but its not dangerous to be reseted) so dude, it works and thanks for the tip!

  • may work on newer stuff but mid to early ninteys and earlier computers that doesn't work .

  • i did this on my dell 1000 but it didn't works.....can you help Lazzlo000 ?

  • @aznjj103 try connecting the password protected hdd to ur pc as a slave and put a new hdd as a master then try accessing ur old hdd, see if it works and if it does then transfer all ur work to the new hdd. if its a laptop hdd you can get ide and sata adapters to connect to ur pc from ebay for a few quid, try it, it might just work,
