I remember like yesterday .. when our family in 1961 (i think) watched for the first time .. the Flintstones. When I went back into school Ms. Etheridge (who btw looked, believed, and thought just like Sarah Palin), was apalled that I watched The Flintstones. She said that dinosaurs and cave(wo)men were not in the Bible. .. I am charmed that almost 50 years later, someone like Ms. Etheridge finally was able to incorporate The Flintstones into their world view .. Her belief is idiosyncratic.

Scientists may 'know' more data, but how do they use it? What is their world view about that data? So often, the come to hard facts with an a priori belief that their is no God. So, no matter what the evidence says, they aren't going to believe. These site are often dominated by those who basically worship the scientists, but they are just fallible people. They make mistakes, and sometimes come to very wrong conclusions because of a wrong assumption.

After a two second Wikipedia search, I found this about Mitochondrial Eve: She is believed to have lived about 140,000 years ago in what is now Ethiopia, Kenya or Tanzania.
You may find a few crackpots saying otherwise, but that is the position of science. ALL evidence, except for the stupid old bible which also says garbage like to stone disobedient children, points to an earth billions of years old. NO. Scientists are not "stupid" as in unintelligent. In fact, many scientists are creation scientists. However, intelligence doesn't mean they are right. Many intelligent people have a predisposition against God. History has nothing to do with evolutionary concepts ("millions of years," dino-to-bird, ape-to-man, etc.).
