American historians don't teach the young that the taxes were a tiny fraction of what British people back home paied, they don't teach how Spain and France were the reasons America got independence, they don't teach how the glorious America was trashed by the British in 1812, they don't tell how the Americans went westwards killing Indians. Alot of American history they don't tell.

Stuff like that, we don't do British military history although I think we do a bit on the British Empire (Although we did the industrial revolution instead).

And the American colonies were lost at Chesapeake. The French victory cut off British supplies and reinforcements to America from Britain. Mel Gibson is the greatest actor that ever lived. He did terreific job in Braveheart which is one of the most successful movie of all times and thanks to him, patriot is a legend too. God bless this man.

It was the entrance of France into the war that inevitably drove the British out. The crushing blow to Britain came in the form of the Battle of Chesapeake. A must win for Britain to ensure their pressence remained on the U.S continent. But they were defeated by a far superior french fleet. France won the American revoloution.

The French did supply the colonies with alot of key resources, but it wouldn't have fought in the first place if not for the 'distraction' in America.
