This surprised me. I like very much Rush's 2112 song, and this sounded for me very similar to it, also with some Radiohead influences.

I always picture this half of the story starting off years after Dr. Light escapes from Dr. Wily after Act II, starting with 'intermission' being played by a band in some sort of a night-club and evolving into this, as an elaborate depiction of events.
