I've been in Glouster almost all my life, and ofcourse, we aren't the greatest school. Everyone classifies Glouster as "The Drug Capital of Ohio". A lot of people that live here DON'T do drugs or anything like that. I can say that my family and, plenty of other people around here have good values. I believe that ANYONE in Glouster can become a success. Our school is working, we got 1 of the highest scores in math. I believe we can all do it if we try, and i'm only 14.
I go to trimble school. We are getting our indicators done and getting more grades thats better than we have before. Every school is getting the same education.If people in glouster town choose to do drugs that is their choice that is their mistake. But some people make big improvements and go on to be successful in many ways.
I'd like to say something. I was born and raised in Glouster-I'm 19. I graduated from THS, valedictorian. I'm at Columbia now, an Ivy League school. Trimble is not that bad, if you don't let it be. You CAN get out and make something of your life. You can choose not to get caught up in the drugs, to make do with what you have, and push yourself to do better. I'm proud I'm from Glouster. We work harder to reach our goals, because we know no one is handing them to us. Things can change in Glouster.
Btw, I am in the class of 2009, and I hate Trimble school with every fiber of my being but I have full intentions of Getting a good paying job, save up some money, and change this place back to the way it used to be. My dad says that within the amount of time he left, mayb about 20 years, all of Glouster went to hell. There wasnt ppl on the street corners asking for drug money, ppl were able to leave their McD's in their car w/o it being stolen(personal experience)we need to help not jus escape.

I raised 3 fine sons here who all turned out just fine. We may be poor here, but a good education can be had here, if you want it. Trimble students are as prepared for college as students from any other school in Ohio, and I've shown this with surveys and statistics. It's the false negative assumptions shown here that tell students they can go nowhere, so many don't bother to try. I graduated from Trimble in '99, graduated with Honors from OU in 03, then an MS from U of Hawaii in 05. I came back here because this area is better than anywhere else I could find in this country.

and what's really sad is he's not allowed to rebuild it because it's in a flood zone.
