  • @Ryan07Murphy his planning of tonality is genius, that is all

  • Mr. Emmanuel. Could you please have sex with my sister? I'd like to have a baby one of you in my family.

  • I cannot wait to see Tommy on the 28th of April!!! I seriously hope he plays this but in all fairness i dont care what he plays since he has the unbelievable ability to mix technicality with feel and emotion perfectly regardless of what he's playing... one of my guitaring heroes i literally love Tommy Emmanuel's playing and his character, such a nice bloke

  • @Ryan07Murphy no, its not as simple as to be based on a prewritten mode.. this is ambiguous tonality. He is switching major and minor chords in different phrases of the piece... its musical genius, despite how simple the composition is.. its incredibly effective, something that can only be written with feeling/emotion. If the dorian mode contains all the intervals contained in this song fair play but I do not put this composition down as any template or structure

  • Awesome *-*

  • has a very nostalgic feel

    it's simply beautiful

  • this songs sounds like an exciting expedition over the ocean with a old sail ship.

    simply beautiful!

  • @KingKoboldMcMarco your halfway right there, it is about an exciting expedition over land in oregan, usa. fantastic isnt it. im seeing him here in england on wednesday,i hope he plays this=)

  • that intro is amazing...

  • Really nice tune. It is enchanting. I'd like to play it.

  • How would you like to hear TE, & Karen Briggs, (From Yanni)?

    It'd be good!

    Nate

  • i love that chorus

  • This melody and chord progression is one of the saddest and happiest combinations i've heard. The texture of the melodyline is so alive and happy, yet so small and fragile.

  • @9kolajbertelsen sounds like a horoscope for guitar songs.

  • @9kolajbertelsen spot on

  • Quite a show man as well as a guitar player, his play has depth and character, thank you so muck!!~~

  • is this one of his simpler songs to play like papa george?

  • @Gnarlycardz yeah.....it's not terribly difficult. try it and see how you go

  • Why had I not heard this song earlier? what is this a cover of? if at all?

  • not a cover, he wrote it, prolly one of the best acoustic guitarists on the planet, his live shows are insane!

  • I've seen him when he brought out his Journey album. Before he moved to the US. He played electric as well as acoustic. i am glad that he has chosen acoustic as his main instrument. And lewis and clark is one of my favourite songs. As well as the Golliwogg's cakewalk cover he does.

  • on his dvd live at her majesty's theatre in ballarat, he plays this song and explains the story behind it....it was along the lines of how lewis and clark are basically the american version of oz's burke and wills, and how tommy never heard of lewis and clark before or something like that, i cant remember....feel free to correct :)

  • sounds good to me.. thanks for the response. Must go back and practice golliwogg's cakewalk..

  • good on ya mate

  • every time I see or hear this man play, I'm just awestruck....

  • i love this tune i want to play it but cant find tabs anywere

  • if you have guitar pro, you can go to ultimate-guitar. com and download the tab there...enjoy ;)

  • yh i tried and it didnt work lol

    but thanx anyway :D

  • here you have a site with a lot of tommy's songs...enjoy and good luck

  • what site?

  • Yes, right. I've seen him live in Germany a couple of weeks ago and he played some songs without... The same on his Center Stage DVD... Never realized it before...

  • I don't think there will ever be a guitar player that has so much emotion in their music. I am blown away every time I hear his music!!

  • he's definitely the best i've heard.

  • INteresting... I've never seen Tommy Emmanuel playing without a thumbpick before (if hes not using a pick).... The song is more than breathtaking!

  • he did often

    watch somewhere over the rainsbow

he doesn't use a pick there also

  • this man has the golden touch on guitar...

  • he's easily the best acoustic guitar song writer ever.

  • Comment removed

  • He didn't say the best acoustic guitar song ever written? Idiot!

  • @SymonDillDave no, michael hedges is.
