yeaaaahhh!!!!! HEY ANYBODY REMEMBER PHASE 3 GROOVE CREW HOUSE PARTIES 728 HUNTERDON OR FABIAN PLACE BRICK CITY??? HEY I BET NO ONE CAN DO "THE INTERGESTION" ANYMO!!! LMAO!!!!
Dam this was off the hook back in the day!....Me and my sisters even made up the searching dance...Today it looks so stupid, but it didnt then back then....Lmao!
Too bad! I was'nt really into clubbin like that back then. But the song bring me back to an era when I was enjoyin being a teenager. I used to hear this playing on the Newak NJ street boom boxes. Playing basketball with my friends in the parks. Anyway! listen to it at 05:40. That instrument sets this version vof this song on fire.
I remember this jam back when I was 15...and I used to skate to this joint. Now if they played this jam at the rink where I skate they would have to throw me out because I would break every rule in the book.
Maaaannn!!! This song, this particular version! The club version! was the shiiiiiieeett!! Back in the day! I started lisftening to it and I'm hooked. Thanks for posting and putting me on this time machine back to the 80s.
Grew up in Newark in the 60/70's.remember going to Coney Island, by the mini-roller coaster ride where the DJ played all the slammin' music, people out there dancin', but when they played this song, everyone stepped back and watched those Puerto Rican couple get out and dance........those moves they had would beat anything and anybody on "Dancin' ithe the Stars" .
This cut and Lovin' Is Really My Game by Brainstorm were your "in trouble records"; you put them on when your party was in trouble. This cut still jams. Who remembers Tribeca's?
Oh ...SNAP!!! I remember hearin' this on the dance floor and the radio and thinkin' it was the group Change cause it sounds like them. But yet - I could never find it. LOL Thanks for posting this.
i tried to go on snoop dogg's facebook page and email a picture of my middle finger and tell him to share it with lil wayne & souljah boy but i couldnt. but i tried, can i get an e for effort?
Tell me about it. Back then music had meaning. You dont hear these anymore. Groups like Unlimited Touch, Star Point, Shalamar, etc these were the real ones. But any way thanks for the post TIBBSY you really took me back memory lane
Hey folks, they need to reproduce this songs like many other music of the 1980's so the younger generation can listen and sing this it. They'de have fun and make money off of it. The younger generation listeners woudn't know where it came from. They'de have to do their homework as if they were in high school.
The first time I heard this joint I was in the Navy stationed in Jacksonville, Fla. and my friend Carlos would always get tapes sent to him from home (Corona, Queens NY) and this song was on one of them. I know many of you remember those 98.7 Kiss Master Mixes. That was one of the funkiest mixes I had ever heard and I kept that tape until it got destroyed in 2002. I'll be a House Head when I'm 90. LOL
now.....here we go!!!!!!!!!! i am the one who can tell you that if you know your 4 roller wheels......you got something going on wit this jam!!!!!!!!!!!!! i mean tho dat sh.. up in da air when you go round that skate rink floor, man...........listen......this is the one you want to do on da real!!!!!!!!! metafor48
...can still remember driving into NYC for a night at the Garage and coming out of the Lincoln tunnel at a light it seemed like all the cars in traffic had this BLASTING at 11PM....so great...( remember the windshield "squeegee" dudes !!! ) Gotta love NYC back then..........
Anybody remember the club Justines Lavitacas in NYC.....Great music like this I'm so lucky to be a part of this era.......I'm dancing right now ...LOL
This song accompanied my adolescent longing, but the beat was so cheerful that it made the loneliness bearable. Fortunately, ultimately, I did find the one, but had no assurance of that back then. Heard it this eve on WBLS 107.5 FM during a cold-spring, late-sunny walk.
This brings back memories! I remember when they performed at our High School! They were hot back then. It was the hype around the school when they made this song. We used to love to walk by the house they were rehearsing in to hear them jammin. I knew them and went to school with them. Wish they could do something now!

@2009DenisemYour very welcom...OMG!!! is correct...Unless you experienced this cut on a Richard Long & Assoc. sound system it's just a good song but for those who were there...and know....this is for you...Peace & Love
@2009Denisem That's right man, music don't exist like this no more. I remember when Paco at WKTU played this joint, I would dance my ass off in my room. My grandmother busted me dancing and she was like you dance pretty good. This jam was and still is off the hook. Thanks for sharing. Leo "The Lion" .
@2009Denisem I was looking at the interview of Jacyee Lee Dugard. It just came to my mind "Searching to Find the One." Her abducter is a musical genius. He writes, produces, and plays his own music. He is a bit bizzare but he is gifted. I listened to him and he sounds talented. Too bad his mental illness and demons won't allow him to release his creative abilities to the world. That is the price you pay for a musical genius.
Before hotlanta before the south before california knows how to party N-Y-C was the place that knows how to party you had to be there. Sorry young bucs we did more than just bop our heads whaaaaaaaaaat! put this song this beat banging on the floor the base took over just like hip hop NY passed the torched elsewhere.
WOW dig that awesome guitar solo at the end. You don't hear that anymore from the new pre-programed music the kids are coming up with these days. (Sigh) my people perish for lack of knowledge.
Yup........i use to go to the Funhouse in NYC every Saturday........those days in the late 70's and early 80's were the best days of my life. I miss all the girls from back then.
wow, this was way back when we could leave a disco at 8 am to go search for breakfast in the blinding sunlight, that was the best times. This song being played with the strobe lights on was an experience I will never forget. Too bad my kids haven't experienced clubs like that. The Funhouse was awesome. I miss this song played by WBLS in Prospect park Brooklyn summer time. Summer block parties played this song, everyone jumped up!
@gypsydancer64 Aint that the truth FELLOW NEW YORKER.. i tell my kid the same thing ..2days youth have soo much more material items yet the exp.. the movement of the BIG APPLE... ahh where do i began... 107.5wbls,92wktu....rollerskating,block partys the FUNHOUSE OMG... & yes you are so correct..this classic joint & many others from that era got folks n2 a frenzy.
We partied 4 the the music... everyone jumped up! aint that the truth!
In Detroit thinking about renting a hall and throwing a dayz of wayback jam with old school classics like this with some zapp/roger, tom browne,whodini,heatwave,ojays,tempts,cameo,etc,etc......you get the point.....think it would go over well?

This brings back great memories for me> This was the hay day of the Baths in Chicago> I was Playing Records at Man's Country's dancehall (12 hour gig) all kinds of music but my favorite was to become what they called house. This was
t he early gems , a musical blessing. Im proud and humbled to be there with Frankie,Ronnie,Farley,Slik and so many others.Peace
Great Posting! We used to play this back in the day. Your Boombox, Ghetto blaster or stereo wasn't worth shit if it couldn't handle the deep drone bass at 1:10
Timeless classic with the greatest of memories...NYC clubs were jumping when the DJ played tis tune.. dance floor was jammin... Good times for sure!! I miss those days., No music like this music ever...BTW Still searching till I find the one.. :-)
Great music, memories, friends and the best of times!
@2009Denisem You were really spoilt with all the music back in the day, makes me want to come to the US...can only imagine what it must have been like.
Prelude, Salsoul, Westend the template that only a few of the majors could keep up with. Only Ray Caviano (RFC WARNER BROS.RIP)My brain fails me....Casablanca my friend i can't remember. And few Ive also forgotten.Peace

Here you have a tasty gumbo of Minimoog bass and leads coupled with 70s era Arp Strings that were rarely heard by this time-but sounded great.
