The new fit is faster that the old one, especially in high speed (high rpm).. as you can see, the driver uses only the 1st gear most of the time and very little time for the 2nd gear.. The old fit runs faster from zero but cannot hold high speeds but the new FIT does..
@mmmmtsup you are kinda stupid.. to think he is mostly in 1st.. have u driven a manual b4.? as u can see from the video, he is mostly in 2nd, only shifting from 2nd to 3rd (look how the arm moves in a forward motion when shifting i.e. 2nd -> 3rd) and when he shifts from 3rd to 2nd (backward motion). if u have driven a manual b4.. u will know how the gears are positioned.
The new Fit is right on the tail of the old Fit in this video. I'm sure it would have been the same if the new Fit started out in front in the very beginning with the old Fit trailing behind.
It's not like the new has 30hp more than the old one. A few extra horses won't make the new one easily catch the old one nor blow past it for that matter.
The engine is the same L15, but it has improved HP, said to have 120 now, but I dunno...maybe the fit in which Ichiro raced hasn't been tuned up yet, unlike his older Fit :)
Is that a go kart circuit? It's pretty small and tight.

agreed new fits look like shrinked soccer mom mini vans. old fits at least look like hatchbacks and have unique go-kart like handling.
