#2 I'm not saying that I can't hit it from 25 yards away, I'm saying that its going to take a little more time than you are saying. Guns don't shoot flat; the bullet goes up, then down. Its never as simple as "Scope in and shoot." Its a science.

At that range the optic would be zeroed to about 200 yards, depending on the shooter before you, so you would miss it by about a foot. You've obviously never fired a firearm before. I'm sorry, I gave you the benefit of the doubt on that one.

Bullet drop is real. Bullets don't just stay at the same elevation until they hit something. So your target moved. No problem. Shoot ahead of them based on the markings on the scope. Boom! Hit.

I snipe ALL THE TIME on navy ships in battlefield 3. Never once been killed while sniping.

They're normal rifles just slightly adjusted to work at long range with a scope, having them at close range would make them, effectively, just a normal rifle again. Aside from the 50. Cal ones like the Barratt but you shouldn't even be using them on human beings anyway.

And about Bf3 sniping, real snipers have to deal with a lot more than just bullet drop, they have to take into account wind direction wind speed distance how -
