Honestly being a Kannadiga I never heard this song ... I bumped into this song in a private FM station ... Browsed in Youtube and really a wonderful song and soothing one.. Thanks to the people who posted this... I never miss this song and has a permanent place in my Ipod...

oh and by the way, Chi.Udayshankar is my all time fav lyricist! in fact, Chi.Udayshankar, RN Jayagopal and Vijayanarasimha have been Gods to an atheist :) the below story was told just to highlight the fact...not trying to hurt anyone's feelings :)

the lyricist of this song is not Chi.Udayshankar but Viajayanarasimha. after listening to this song, Chi.Udayshankar gets so impressed that he calls up Viajayanarasimha to congratulate for the wonderful lyrics. it happens that Viajayanarasimha's wife attends the call and Chi.Udayshankar asks "Aaseya bhava maneli iddarenamma!?" she gets confused and later it became a popular joke among them :-)...i heard this story on TV - either on Edethumbi Haadidenu or Madhuramadhuravee Manjulagaana program.

In late 90's during our annual college cultural festival there was a singing competition and out of some 30 contestants, three guys sang this same song. Out of that 2 guys were from Tamil Nadu who were studying in Bangalore. And believe it or not, all the 1st three prizes were for this song only That shows what a beautiful song this is!!

Have seen the movie. But did'nt know the name of the movie. I had heard this beautiful song even before. But liked it very much after watching this movie. It gives the nostalgia of simple life of 80's and Bangalore of the past in which the story is set. The movie is carried on a simple uncomplicated story line which keeps one interested till the end unlike the movies of today in which you do'nt find any great story. But an unbeleivable story line is dragged for 21/2 hrs.
