So ive just finally got around to checking out your channel (from watching so many of your new world next week episodes) and im upset with myself for not doing so earlier :P
But yeh, i'd love to see more of these ^, i mean there are just so many films i'd love to hear my own thoughts being spoken back to me, its a nice form of psychotherapy, and a refreshing change to being pathologized.
Anyhoo subbed and i will make an effort to peruse your website(s).
@seks03 - thanks! You might enjoy Episode 008 of our Remedy Radio podcast, which talks a whole lot about the Matrix - (its under the Remedy Radio playlist on my Youtube channel)
the first thing i noticed about the DC shirt was that there are seemingly modified swastika shapes in the tessellation. not that i care at all that Paul is wearing the shirt in the first place: Hijacking Humanity changed my life! :D
btw i love this series, Richard integrates so many schools of thought it's beautiful.. i'm even picking up some Stefan Molyneux in his thoughts which is great.
I think this film is the modern day version of Lord of The Flies, pretty much saying people are useless and depend on the ruling elite for basic survival. I agree and disagree at the same time its one of those things.
il watch it, feels like you're analyzing a book hehe but its more fun n movies. Rhetoric being movies is good, but music videos are SUPER packed with symbolism even more than films.
@4truthnfreedom we don't mean to imply that every movie we feature is 'watch instantly' on netflix, if that's what you mean... we'll have to clarify that on the next episode
@mediamonarchy Hehe, well it is called Navigating Netflix....But I get why you wouldn't limit yourselves to only Netflix's selection! I love 'Idiocracy' and I've owned it for years. By the way, I have always wanted someone or a group of people to break down this movie, too much for the viewers to miss. THANK YOU!
Rhône was founded in 1995[6] by billionaire financiers Robert Agostinelli and Steven Langman. The pair have been running and managing Rhône since inception along with their team who most of whom have been working together since the early 80's at Lazard and Goldman Sachs. Im not passing judgement but it just struck me as an odd company to be supporting with these kinds of ties to big business. Especially with the big vesica piscis in the middle of the logo. Great work regardless!
DC was supposedly acquired by Quicksilver in 2004. Quiksilver announced a financial restructuring plan that includes an agreement with Rhone Group, an international private equity firm, with offices in the Rockefeller Center, London and Paris for a 5-year senior secured term loan of approximately $150 million and new $200 million Line of Credit in the Americas from Bank of America and GE Capital.
@bhardison08 - Can you specify which HUGE corporate logo you mean and who you are talking about (Rich & Tony are wearing suits, I was wearing a DC shirt that my mom gave me for Christmas, and James is wearing a shirt making fun of the Paramount Logo, which actually reads 'Paranoid' (backwards) if you look closely.) I'm not sure how it's 'weird', but i am interested in understanding your opinion... i like to wear modified corporate shirts for irony sometimes... its fun! =)
i have a different analysis. the "elite class" are actually still in control. but they have physically removed themselves from Planet Earth.
The evidence is in the technology of Idiocracy. How do they have all of their machinery like the "toilet seat" and their "monster-trucks". and how do they know how to formulate the "gatorade" liquid if everybody is so stupid?
this indicates that there is an OFF-WORLD ELITE that is still in control
We have already had a pro wrestler as a governor. It's not too far of a stretch to see Jesse as president. If Obama was fairly elected then I propose that we already live in an idiocracy sponsored by the bankocracy. Hell, just the fact that people still vote in a fraudulent defacto corporation called the USA and think they are free proves it. Thanks guys, it is a pleasure to listen to the proof that there is still hope.
I would recommend Hot Fuzz as a good potential film for discussion/analysis.
Like Idiocracy, it's lol funny and a very sharp critique of the police state, globalization, conspiracy, and how the few control the many for "The Greater Good".
It has great re-watch value and works on multiple levels and imo would be a great film for one of your breakdowns.
That is all. Hope you read this! Thanks again, keep up the great work (no, not THAT great work!).
@FocusedLucidity - That's actually a really good recommendation! I love Simon Pegg, Nick Frost and Edgar Wright's work.... they are definitely hip to the ways of the world... Thanks for the suggestion! =)
Seen it over a dozen times. Too much to take in in just one viewing. Also, even funnier (scarier? truer?) as time goes by and when viewed again and again as the world resembles the reflection ever more. Functions on multiple levels as both pure comedic entertainment (relentlessly funny) and as a dire warning/mirror of this silly backwards McWorld we live in. Works great as a double feature with Office Space btw. Mike Judge was at the top of his game.
I loved this movie when it came out and thought it was underrated immensely. I enjoyed the commentary about all the points in the film and look forward to the next navigating netflix show.

I don't know if it's just me but check out what I picked up. Here's some quick points.
*Not Sure came to the people with "ancient knowledge" and he tried to help/save the people with it.
*He was also going to be executed in front of the masses.
*He married the "prostitute" and had kids with her
There's a few more things I can point out but I think that's enough to ask if anybody notices the resemblance to Jesus?

I'm surprised you haven't done "The Matrix" since you guys say this has everything in it with regards to the web we are lost in.

Why is he wearing that shirt with the HUGE corporate logo? Seems weird for someone with his stance of these issues. Any explanations?
