You don't have to be a genius to realize any Heisman recipient that's a QB or a running back, had a good offensive line, how can that be an argument against Troy Smith? That's equivalent to saying that USC wouldn't have won a national championship two years ago if they didn't have an offense.
holy shit, he has got to have the most time able to stand in the pocket in all of football. Jesus, literally almost NO ONE breaks the line at all in any of the plays, and he stands in the pocket for well over 3 secs on many plays
no Notre Dame may not be a great team but Quin is a great quarterback while Ohio state is a great team with a good quarterback. If you look at most of the plays Smith barely gets pressured, he can stand in the pocket all day if he wants. His lines deserve most of the credit for some of the things he does.

smith chose to become a QB instead of an athlete that plays the position of QB (VY). i agree there arent as many sweet players this year but its really unfair to compare any season to last season in terms of heisman contenders. I dont think troy will or should be one of the top 2-3 quarterbacks. the only thing going against him is his height.
Troy Smith is a good COLLEGE quarterback and performs good in big games. but lets face it, other quarterbacks such as Brady Quinn, Colt Brennan, and John Beck are all better than him. before any of you OSU fans attack me, why don't we wait and see how far into the NFL draft Troy Smith is taken. Its nothing thats wrong with society. It's called they make the money that they bring in to the organization. Just like any rich person if you want to know the truth about it. It's not like they are out there robbing the poor for their salaries, they BRING IN that money by entertaining people on the field. Who would you prefer that money go to? More for the GMs and office types that aren't even the real reason that these pro sports franchises are successful?

no Notre Dame may not be a great team but Quin is a great quarterback while Ohio state is a great team with a good quarterback. If you look at most of the plays Smith barely gets pressured, he can stand in the pocket all day if he wants. His lines deserve most of the credit for some of the things he does.

as far as being a QB. watch an OSU game and count how many mistakes he makes...he will definitely turn into a brees-type QB w/ that extra athletic dimension. he will make a fine NFL QB. btw who the fuck has colt brennan played against. he plays against WAC opponents. play against a good defense like LSU, Michigan or Ohio State. he wont have number s like that...GO BUCKS!

smith chose to become a QB instead of an athlete that plays the position of QB (VY). i agree there arent as many sweet players this year but its really unfair to compare any season to last season in terms of heisman contenders. I dont think troy will or should be one of the top 2-3 quarterbacks. the only thing going against him is his height.

Troy Smith is a good COLLEGE quarterback and performs good in big games. but lets face it, other quarterbacks such as Brady Quinn, Colt Brennan, and John Beck are all better than him. before any of you OSU fans attack me, why don't we wait and see how far into the NFL draft Troy Smith is taken. ESPN predicted him to go in the 2nd, maybe even early 3rd round while Quinn will easily be a top 5 pick.

He is better than Vince Young when it comes to quarterback skills. Young is 6'5, and Smith, at 6'0 is shorter, and therefore can't see over most NFL linemen. That's the difference. I would be bored too if my team sucked in comparison to one of the greatest college football teams of all time, the Ohio State Buckeyes.

When i saw my first highlight of Troy Smith running the ball for a touchdown against Michigan a year ago... I thought..man he's too good to be the 2nd string QB! and i never knew how strong his arm is until this year... that if you watch his passes---
You will see that he has great such arm strength...I'm gonna go out on a limb here, but I'm gonna say that it's comparable or better than Favre's arm strength
