  • john, george, ringo and paul were amazing when they made music together as the beatles =D x

  • It was the time when Beatles peeked also in my far part of little Denmark. I remember how parents and teachers was furius and hateful at that music. But for us teenagers it was the sound of freedom and release. Even the "Danisc publlic party" vill not be able too turn the time wheel back. Thanks to thos culturel partisans from Liverpool.

  • Paul was such a good guy for being on this song.

  • yoko is quite pretty (sometimes0 and john loved (correction LOVES) her and that is all that matters! John<3 Yoko Yoko <3 John

  • I can't describe how important this music is for me!

  • Don't get me wrong, John is my hero and a truly great man, but this very average and deeply narcissistic single was the beginning of Lennon's all-consuming obsession with placing himself and/or Yoko in every damned song he wrote. From Plastic Ono Band right through his death in '80, a good 85% of his songs were about HIMSELF. It gets tedious.

  • @ProjectFlashlight612

Where did you get that Paul plays all the instruments? Wikipedia has John playing lead guitars and rhythm accoustic guitar and some percussion. This is confirmed in Mark Lewisohn's The Complete Beatles Recording Sessions.

    Regards

  • @ProjectFlashlight612 Oops! I meant that for someone else.

    Pardon me!

  • Damn, is so fucking incredible know that Paul played all the instruments on this song, but besides that I can't forget john's voice. The Beatles in my opinion were the best band of Rock and Roll of all time. I you are disagree, please get the fuck out of all Beatles videos.

  • @disekombativo Yeah , Thats True ...

  • @disekombativo Actually, John played both guitars (acoustic and electric) and did a small percussion with the back of his guitar, Paul played the bass, the piano, drums and recorded the additional voices.

  • @disekombativo you're wrong, lennon did the rhythm (acoustic) and the lead guitar.

  • @lees2oo8 falsehood

  • Ding dong the witch (should be) dead

  • This ROCKS

  • i wish every couple in the worlds relashionships could be like john and yokos rhinship... they were just the picture perfect couple!!!!!! and yoko has nothing to do with breaking up the beatles!!! john and yoko look soooo good together!!

  • PEACE & LOVE MAN, PEACE & LOVE....

  • To all you gingers out there, look who is your God.

  • @MrHatm8 I said peace & love, ''get it.

  • @Herniuspictures No, that thing with the gingers :P

  • @MrHatm8 yeh sorry if I sounded abrupt man. yeh I mean that John was red haired or a Ginger, and all the rad haired people seem to get a bad rap because of it, but it's like john is the god of gingers. and that gives them kudos.

  • @Herniuspictures Haha, I see :)

I don't think John is red haired

  • @Herniuspictures John isn't a ginger, he has brown hair.

  • 00:21-00:35, okay?

  • PERFECT

  • john lennon was so beyond his years... turning a story into an awesome song and makes it look easy! class.

  • @nmmurray I put this on after listening to the Beatles No1 singles cd in my car and thought the same thing.Listen to Rick Nelsons Garden Party and then wiki him up

  • i hate yoko ono, i love this song and i love 2:44. but i will always love cynthia lennon.

  • @inoculateoculist Why What?

  • Just FYI - this whole song was over dubbed by only John & Paul; PM is playing the drums

  • great song, would've much prefered the ballad of john and cyn :D

  • Just about sums life up for most of us better than any other song. Go John!

  • Comment removed

  • The Ballad of John and Yoko is a unique gem in the musical world!

  • John is so excited to record it, he can`t even wait for George and Ringo, dragging Paul into the studio with him to work it out between them. Paul must have torn feelings, as the song is about John`s new post-Beatles life, but he loyally applies himself and the two of them rock out!

  • Great song. I love the fact that you get a story out of this song.

  • John Lennon Is A Genius !!

  • did john lennon "try" to immitate christ in about 69,70...or was this unconsiouss?

do i see a resemblance...if you look in one of the books i read, on lsd, he brought the other beatles together and say he was christ.

i see parallels.[and bed in , so on]

  • Regardless of the fact that I dislike Yoko, I love John Lennon, I love the Beatles and I love this song! <3

  • An Exellent Song.

    The Beatles

    Best Band In History.

  • the ballad of john and cynthia

  • Billions of John Lennon fans.

So many of them are actually Beatles fans, not Lennon fans.

Beatles fans hate Yoko for breaking the Beatles up.

Lennon fans don't care what Yoko did because they know that John wouldn't want us promoting hate because she broke up the best band in the world.

  • @Dearhunter43 I am a fan of the Beatles AND John Lennon!

  • @TheLadySpartan Good for you... Peace

  • @TheLadySpartan Yeah , youre right....

  • Love this tune :}

  • cynthia forever!!!!

  • cynthia is better!!!!!!!

  • omg Cynthia !!!!!!!!

  • Kto by chciał , stare próchno, nie nadaje się do tartaku :)))

  • fuck yoko ono!!

  • i do not like it song how just as i do not like yoko ono

  • John Lennon = Harry Potter

    Yoko Ono = Cho Chang

  • You don't take nothing with you but your soul ,,THINK

  • this is one of my favorite beatles songs ever. maybe its because i played all the other ones out years ago, but this just rocks so damn hard

  • dude. what the hell. MARK DAVID CHAPMAN far right 2:11

  • @AustinfreAK47 WTF is that really him?!?!?

  • @AustinfreAK47 wow, no kidding? Kinda creepy! What's the backstory?

  • Should be called the Ballad of John and Paul, as they are the only Beatles who played and sang on the track.

  • lovely song!

  • One of the first songs to be recorded only in stereo.

  • @bibbler227 Well, yes I am serious. What makes you think I'm not?

  • @bibbler227 No, you're the one who doesn't have a clue on what I'm talking about. You should be the one to educate yourself from making dumb comments since you probably don't know squat on how the Beatles would prefer on how their music should sound like.

  • @bibbler227 First of all, old man, why bother to reply to me if you think I'm not serious when I said this and the rest of the later songs were only in stereo? Do I care if you seen them live? Good for you since you brag it to guys your age and the younger. You're the one who's starting a flame war since I can tell your reply was supposed to be for me and I was being respectful in here. Consider yourself lucky to have younger folks, like me, that enjoys this music more than the modern ones.

  • @bibbler227 Same to you, dumb old man. Stop replying if you don't make sense.

  • @bibbler227 Umadbro?

  • The song was recorded without George Harrison (who was on holiday) and Ringo Starr (who was filming The Magic Christian).

Lennon (on guitar): "Go a bit faster, Ringo!"

    McCartney (on drums): "OK, George!"

  • @RaquelXD27 Excellent trivia. John said during the Playboy interview conducted during the last year of his life that he thought he and Paul could have been, essentially, just as successful with two other blokes. He backtracked a little--he admitted he might be wrong--but I think he was correct, as this song illustrates.

Apologies to George and Ringo, who each brought their own talent and charisma to the band, but John and Paul were the core guys by a huge margin.

  • @misterdeadly1 I'd agree with you on Ringo, but George? Some of the best songs written by the Beatles weren't Lennon/McCartney. Hell, even Frank Sinatra said his favorite song from Lennon/McCartney was "Something". Taxman? Old Brown Shoe... which he plays bass on? While My Guitar Gently Weeps.... I Me Mine... Here Comes The Sun? I don't think you really understand the depth of his influence or his ability.

  • @ourkchusaymo I hear what you're saying, and you may be right. Still, I'd say of the 50 best Beatles songs, 45 were Lennon/McCartney, of the 100 best around 93 were Lennon/McCartney. So it would be different, but 90% plus is close. And if George's replacement was a Jeff Beck, or an Eric Clapton, instead of some nobody, that's a consideration. But it is all counter-factual speculation, and I agree with John that it may--or may not--have worked with two other blokes.

  • @RaquelXD27 yes Lady THAT´S RIGHT!!! and was the basement for the paul´s performance playing drums guitar and bass for the tune THE END included on BEATLES ALBUM ABBEY ROAD

  • 7 people are standing at the dock at Dover.

  • I Love The Beatles but this is the one song. Literally the one song I dislike. It has nothing to do with Yoko even though I hate her. This song just sucked.

  • Yes John, they unfortunatly crucified both you and Yoko. What a horrible world this is.

  • ((ºJº)) and //-.-\\

  • happy 71st bday johnny boy

  • john lennon era mas chino aunqe fuese ingles

  • Yes--the bass is GREAT!!!

  • Real music!!!

  • one of the most influential couples in the history of our planet!!!!!

  • I was ll yrs old when the Beatles came to america. I cried when I saw them and wanted to run to England to marry Paul. I lived the magic of Beatlemania. It was awesome beyond comprehension. PLS go to my favs and click on VERY NICE SINGING WITH A LITTLE HELP FROM MY FRIENDS...and ALL MY LOVING..this is a tribute to the band I grew up with that changed the entire world. THE BEATLES MAGIC IS FOREVER~

  • @suburbangal WOW.....I'm not worthy.....You are the first person to see them in person.....wow....just wow....you are my new hero....do you remember everything about it?

  • 0:21 OH GOD, GROSS.

  • I just enjoy how they love each other, how good couple they are and they don't give a f... what other people think about them, they live their life together and enjoy it!That's the way to live

  • @alma7556

    Right on!

  • This is my favorite song to play bass on. No matter how simple it is. I love it.

  • The Genius of Lennon and McCartney....

  • @oneblueorange ,,Thia is a John lennon song,,but it was attributed as Lennon/McCartney cuz he was still with the beatles technically speaking.

  • @radar200 Snorkfundleweed.....Lennon and McCartney recorded this one without the other Beatles......hence...the Genius of Lennon and McCartney....Now good day to you sir.

  • Sucks that this and the Beatles' later songs were in stereo as opposed to their prefer sound, mono.

  • dude this song kicks so much fukkin asss awwww man fukkkin lennon hahah awwwwwwwwwwww man i have smoked so much weed to this song it just makes me happy

  • As much as I love John and his decisions, I will never be able to enjoy Yoko's presence.

  • 1:02 Ahhhhh!!! Darth Vader! Oh wait, that's just Yoko. My bad. :)

  • At 2:50 imagine the Gollum saying: "My praaaashiouusss..." Boy, Morticia sama gives me MAJOR creeps.

  • Paul could play a Good Drum Roll

  • I wonder if John Lennon was Psychec

  • John Lenno kinde of is dressed like Darth Vader

  • Paul was a helluva drummer on this.

  • awwww i like they ending! 2:47 to 2:57! its cute

  • loving this song! ty!....i am glad john found true love...this is rare and the beatles were going to split anyway...for all you beatle fans,,,esp john fans....SHOW SOME LOVE!

  • john once said in an interview, we should credit yoko for giving us their amazing solo work!

  • this actually was only john and paul with mechanical type drums. john let paul sing with him as a courtesy i am told. the begining of the end of the worlds greatest band

  • The end scene is really sweet.

  • Love Paul Drumi

  • Love the tune, but what's really cool to me is how it was recorded & the relationship that John & Paul had. In spite of all of the "problems" that had crept into the Band's situation,( we all know there were plenty by this point) John drops by Paul's house unannounced. He tells him he's got a song & wants to get it recorded asap. They knock the tune off THAT NIGHT by themselves. Ringo was shooting a film. George was on vacation. So these two old friends just do what they did=KICKING MAJOR ASS!

  • 0:24, Proof that Jesus Christ has already ressurected.

  • @TonyfromConey It was recorded with McCartney while the other Beatles were away (busy or on vacation). They were on speaking terms at the time.

  • In 1960, the newly renamed Beatles (formerly the Silver Beetles) began their first gig in Hamburg, West Germany, at the Indra Club.

  • //oL-O\\

  • my wife plays guitar and i play piano, so we play this song to our baby (shes pregnant) :-D

  • ' ...you won't take nothing with you but your soul'...

    "SIC!",

it does sound a lot like "think", but he is joking around since yoko's quotation isn't grammatical.

  • It's Kyoko, Yoko's daughter.

  • Love Pauls base riff...

  • @mrstevehartman bass riff* Yeah, me too! I play bass I know how to this riff.

  • 2:11 Who is the girl or boy in middle of John and Yoko?

  • @pipebalaguera thts johns son

  • Fuck you Chapman!

  • How tragically sad. All ended by a lunatic. A brilliant genius gone too soon.

  • ((*j*))- christ ya know it aint' easy !

  • ( (°j°) ) & /( -,-)\

  • The only Beatle members participating on this recording was John and Paul.

  • @mbakkel That's right. John and Paul played all of the instruments (Paul on drums) in a eight hour session.

  • This is actually a great song. I expected to hate it because I despise Yoko, but I should have known John and Paul could write a good song about anything, even a useless no-talent like her.

  • @Axarno123 thank you. i don't see why people would perform this song live. i don't even see john lennon singing this song live if he was alive today.

  • I love this song :D

  • Oh! I alos love that Paul and John still worked together to make a kick-ass song, even though it was kind of awkward foe everyone at that time. That is awesome.

  • Ever since I found out about Yoko Ono breaking up the Beatles, I had a deep loathing for her. After seeing this video, I realize that John and Yoko were actually a kind of cute couple. I still hate her for breaking up the Beatles!! And she has a terrible voice.

  • Rock'n'Roll ^^

  • What album is this on?

  • @utahjazzman21 It was a single, but you can find it on the beatles compilation "the blue album", or "past masters vol. 1 & 2"

  • @utahjazzman21 This song does not appear on any original Beatles album. It is on "1", a compilation of the Beatles' number one hits, which was released in 2000. "John and Yoko" was released as a single with "Old Brown Shoe" in 1969.

  • do you think this song would be unnecessary perform live?

  • There's just John and Paul on this track.

  • sometimes john looks like kurt cobain

  • Comment removed

  • @MrSebanio haha noo, sometimes kurt cobain looks like john lennon 8-)

  • she did it

  • delícia de video

  • I wasn't even alive when he was shot, and it stil affects me sadly. Rest in peace to a good man.

  • ...six bullets in chapmans gun, not a one in HER brain..christ, you know it ain't easy, you know how hard it can be..to listen to yoko ono squeek

  • @TrishaDishaWarEagle that is so cruel!

  • Sounds like a demo.

  • I don't want to cause an argument, but I don't really like this song. I LOVE The Beatles and just about every single one of their other songs but just not this one. Sorry. :(

  • @maxsuperdudeisawesom yeah thats understood like i kinda dont like fixing a whole

  • @TheMrcrazy711 "Fixing a Hole" is pure brilliance...

  • @TheMrcrazy711 "Fixing a Hole" is pure brilliance...Lyrically one of Pauls best and the arraingement on the song is excellent.

  • Only Lennon & McCartney plays on this recording.....

  • To me, towards the end, it sounds like Paul is singing "They're going to crucify me", meaning he was getting drug into John's problems. But John takes it back with the last line "They're going to crucify ME", meaning "the song is about him".

  • McCartney's backing on this is just so spot on - his best bit of backing since Ticket To Ride.
