well its not that I dont respect the program because if im honest its probably more powerful than 3dsmax, thats probably why the movie industry uses Maya more than Max. although the layout and use-ability of Max is 10x better.but im biased. lol im more into the games industry so max was my first choice as thats widely used in that industry.
hi there, thanks for the response. no this was all done in 3dsmax. then put together in adobe Premiere. I tried to use Maya recently but the learning curve is eeevil on that thing. never tried lightwave though its meant to be very good.
no, all the clouds were either matched plates using photoshop or 3dsmax cloud system. theres a cool tutorial on how to do it somewhere, but it takes forever to render.
Thanks for the compliments. im just a freelacer at the minute working on various jobs. I want to eventually set up my own animation studio, and the dream is to eventually be like Pixar! if only. lol
so many good elements in there ! and the jet/flight scenes really work - your opening shot, for a few seconds i thought - its a real human, and he'll show us a compositing trick, but it was a 3d character , so, you did real good. a demo reel that should get you going places :)

Awesome stuff sknne - you're really talented,
to critique: I think there was an abundance of bloom :) and I think you could de-saturate a lot of things.
some real quality stuff (I loved the clouds too!) Good luck

Very good, but it's hard to tell what's going on a lot of the time because it seems like there was way too much light bloom.

deffo too much, plus the compression of the main file didnt help...
sknne77 3 years ago
@pixelbath I wish some modern day game developers would take that into account....

Pity you don't regard maya too highly hehe, but looks like you can work wonders with 3DSMax.

Fantastic! I see recognisable shots, namely from the path of neo video game. Do you work for any paticular company or are you freelance? Wicked reel.

Just awesome. I now it's a showreel, but it actually looks like a short movie. Cool effects and great combination!
