The elimination of civil rights related to marriage and family led to the creation of a fathers' rights movement. Collective action is needed because individual rights no longer exist (difference between civil law and social policy resulting from the legal transformation of marriage and family). The critisisms presented over the years are still unanswered by Obama. That is denial by omission - no reason to believe that he intends to change things for the better.

Sexfanatic, the rich pay a higher % of their earnings in taxes than those that are less affluent. Their tax burden is *proportionately* greater -even under Bush's plan. However, they've also got far more escape routes via "creative" accounting, write offs, etc. Cutting/changing taxation involves reducing the % paid or adjustment of what's taxed or not.
Anyway, the goal is to drive consumption in the economy. Cuts in rich people's taxes don't help nearly as much as those for the working poor.

Sure, John McCain would be taken to task for such criticism because he's white. Well all black men do not just drop babies all over the place. They have white, latino and other races of men that will do the same thing I know because I work in social services. There is a very large percentage of white single mothers. I agree with all some of what you say. Don't have sex, if you do have sex, use protection no matter how much you don't want to. Sure, these are big issues. In this speech Obama says that the African-American community will empower itself by raising the bar for its fathers. You charge that this introspection is shameful. Others simply resent that he's airing black folks' dirty laundry in public. I, however, believe that the man is progressive when he makes sensitive socioeconomic issues part of his agenda. Vote for whomever you deem most fit to lead. But, don't blame a leader for policies he had no part in creating.

The elimination of civil rights related to marriage and family led to the creation of a fathers' rights movement. Collective action is needed because individual rights no longer exist (difference between civil law and social policy resulting from the legal transformation of marriage and family). The critisisms presented over the years are still unanswered by Obama. That is denial by omission - no reason to believe that he intends to change things for the better.

Reagan was also using the "deadbeat dad" argument to play the race card. So was Clinton. The program has included a number of annual round-ups involving multiple police agencies, to arrest thousands of fathers in a single day, and to jail them indefinitely and without trial. A number of other steps, including revocation of drivers' licenses create even more difficulties for men who are just trying to act responsibly; which is entirely different than doing what they are ordered to do.

Sexfanatic, the rich pay a higher % of their earnings in taxes than those that are less affluent. Their tax burden is *proportionately* greater -even under Bush's plan. However, they've also got far more escape routes via "creative" accounting, write offs, etc. Cutting/changing taxation involves reducing the % paid or adjustment of what's taxed or not.
Anyway, the goal is to drive consumption in the economy. Cuts in rich people's taxes don't help nearly as much as those for the working poor.

Pauli9363, GWB cut taxation and also radically INCREASED spending. A weak dollar and recession are the result. (That's not the fiscal conservatism that Republicans are supposed to support.) The bottom line is that the richest Americans don't need and won't respond to tax breaks with increased consumption (to stimulate the economy). Meanwhile, Obama wants to reset the tax burden on those making over $200k a year back to where they were during the Clinton era. (The economy was booming back then!)

I have witnessed men get full custody...i have witnessed a couple get divorced and the woman have to pay spousal support. It's not a man vs. woman thing it's economics. Apparently this issue also extends to the African-African community, in Africa, as well. Obama's father, an African national, was a deadbeat drunk of man who killed himself while driving drunk. This after he'd already lost both his legs in a previous drunk-driving crash.
This is why Obama continues to show poor judgement in seeking out a surrogate father for himself: Father Pfleger, Jeremiah Wright, Louis Farrakhan, William Ayers, Ted Kennedy, ect.

Remember that Clinton raised taxes to the highest level in history after promising a tax CUT! That dirty bastard ruined the economic boom that Reagan built, and he should be hanged for it in public! Last time I checked the CURRENT administration has and continues to put this country into debt, the dollar sucks, we're in a fake ass war, jobs are disappearing, real estate industry is crumbling and record breaking gas prices. When Clinton was president, everyone was making good money and there were plenty of jobs and the government debt was in the black. You must work for Exxon!

There is no special program that anyone can do to "lift" a people. They have been tried.
Change comes from within.
The black community needs to be intolerant of blame-games among their own.
We are here now. Bad things have happened to all groups in the past.
Continuing with the Trinity Church race-fetish thing is going to keep a people down.
Obama is on the right track. It's time to face the problem down.

The KKK could NOT do a better job of reinforcing every possible nasty stereotype about blacks.
Those videos do a double disservice:
1. Make sure that every stereotype about black folks is reinforced in living color!
2. Teach youngsters that thuggy, rude behavior is the way to be. This is what I call "unemployable behaviors"... no one wants that kind of person on the job site.
