I like Neal Diamond,s verson of this song, But i have to give the edge, Chris Isaak,s version (excellent a job well done! ) ps. not being personal! ( he,s a handsome man! )
I just saw him live last night at Brit fest in Jacksonville, OR. He did not paly this song but who cares!! HE IS INCREDIBLE LIVE!! I will see him every time he comes!! Best live show I have seen in a long time!!
Wow, where the heck have I been, Neil D has "Owned" this great 60's hit in my mind (and I'll sure check out the "version" I've heard tell of by Johnny C)
each artist sings each others works because they are fans. and the aritist really enjoy hearing their music played by others espicialy if the others are fans of their music. i really hate it when people get on these things and start bitchin'.
If Neil loves it and hasn't sued him or got in his face then I don't think any of you should have a problem with it. just be grateful he didn't kill with computerized music and auto tuned it.
They have amazing voices, but Ville Valo sings this song better! I like them all, but this are the facts! The emotions that this song gave me when it's sang by HIM it's unanswerable.
I'm sorry guys, I don't think this cover is good at all. he got the attitude of it all wrong I think. Don't get me wrong, I think Isaak has a good voice but dang.
Yeah they all sound good though Neil's is best (with great orchestration) and Johnny's almost as good with a voice that never fails. Neil D wrote it and it charted twice .. once in around '67 and around '70, and was more successful the second time.

I love both this one and Neil's version. I haven't heard Johnny's yet, but this is a wonderful cover. I love Chris Isaak and Neil Diamond both very much.
I have to admit that Neil Diamond wrote some damn good songs! I love this song and Urge Overkills version of "Woman" from "Pulp Fiction". I think that I did not take ND too seriously back in the 60s because he was not a long hair.
Just as he does in "Wicked Game," Chris Isaak capitalizes wildly well on his ability to start soft and build to a tear-sound-filled crescendo. He has one of the best voices I've heard in some time.
