That would have been much easier. Thought about that but the cover is ribbed with bracing inside, I didn't think I could get a pickup close enough. I'm thinking about changing the switch to a coil pickup, circuit sometimes runs if mag/pickup align.
Hey, if the case is aluminum, maybe rather than extend the cam shaft outside the housing, why not embed a neo magnet in the gear and create a hall effect pickup unit outside the casing?
