  • I do not like her dress but the rest is very good. I love she put some modern dance elements inside her choreography....she has good technique.

    *bow*

    angela

  • wow. thank you for raising my standards, Izzy!! <3

  • I'm a beginner at making my own solos, and now I find I'm not original. *cries*

I still think she's an awesome dancer, and apparantly smarter than me. :'(

  • @farashahanem She just has more experience. Izzy created this choreography in 2006. Go ahead and do what you want, just be sure that you put your own personal stamp on it, because that's what makes a move original, not the mechanics of the thing. And there is nothing new under the sun . . . ;-)

  • @SimonDraw Thank you, Simon, I appreciate that. Someone else told me the same thing; it's a relief because I didn't want to be seen as a copycat. :) I'll go ahead and add my own personal spin on the move. And thank you for posting this wonderful vid; Isadora is truely AWESOME! <3<3<3

    Oh, sorry about the emo moment! ^^;;;;;

  • AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH I WAS GONNA DO A TURKISH DROP WITH MY SWORD BALANCED ON MY CHIN FOR THE SWORD SOLO I'M CHOREOGRAPHIIIIIIIING AND NOW I CAAAAAAAAAAAAN'T!!! :'( T_T ;_; :( *whinecrypoutdramatictantrum* I've NEVER seen this video before today; HOW HOW HOW CAN TWO SEPARATE DANCERS COME UP WITH THE SAME IDEA??? HOW??? HOW??? HOW?????? :'(

  • @farashahanem ---The same way opposite sides of the world came up with identical storylines simultaneously, thousands of years before the internet. Two separate dancers can come up with the same idea because the human body only moves a certain number of ways, and there is a limited amount of things you can do with any prop. If everyone tried to only do moves no one had ever done before, we wouldn't get far. Do your dance anyway.

  • wow! This floor work rocks. Can anybody tell me where I can get this music?

  • 1:55 has to be the most BEAUTIFUL and inspiring move ive EVER seen!!! I HAVE to try that sometime. I thought I'd seen ever bellydance move there was out there but THAT was BY FAR the most gorgeous move ever!

  • Anybody have any tips for me how I can get my belly to move evenly like that? My stomache has that little bump the bellybutton and I can only roll above it. Any tips on how I can flatten so I can do an even roll?

  • that was awesome, exciting, original, dramatic and very, very beautiful. You are one cool dancer.

  • I actually joined YouTube just so I could comment on this dance. I can't tell you how many times I've put on this video thinking I'd just listen to the wonderful music and found myself watching the whole thing again. I see so many different elements in your performance - bellydance, Indian dances, martial arts, and a real celebration of the sacred feminine - and they all combine to make this the most mesmerizing and beautiful dance I've ever seen. Your joy in dancing is inspirational! Thank you!

  • Thank you much! Those are precisely the elements I was going for in this piece. I call the style Tejedora--it means "weaver" in Spanish. So glad you enjoyed!

  • I never get tired of watching this dance. It's incredible.

    Namaste.

  • ok this video is amazing but shes really not that good at actual belly dancing

  • You might want to check out her Cane Dance and her dance to Habibbi Ya Eini.

  • are you serious? I suggest you check out her other videos and educate yourself.

  • Izzy is one of my favourite dancers. Check out the video where she is dancing in the fountain!

  • katie, this particular dance is heavy on fusion; check out Izzy's other vid's like her cane dance and "feels like rain"... she's awesome :-)

  • Great floor work, chin balancing, and spins! Very long dance, though, only draw back, and therefore montonous to watch in the parts where she is not using the sword. Also great stomach undulations. Athletic, physically strong dancer.

  • Its fantastic! Great work with the body & the sword. Authentic & full of Power!

  • Beautiful! Awsome!

    Great Video! Keep on posting!

  • the best sword dance I've seen! Wow

  • Awesome!!!! you are a wonderful dancer!

  • La danse dure 10 minutes et en la regardant, on dirait que ça dure 2 minutes. Tellement captivant et toutes vos danses sont comme aussi fascinantes.Bravo

  • that is so great!i love your dance so much!could you tell me where can I get a sword like that?

    pleeease!

  • Thank ye thank ye all! Alas, I received the sword from a friend so I don't know where he got it. It is a heavier one though, and make sure your guard faces on the outside curve if you want to be able to swing it. ~Iz

  • You are incredible, my dear!

  • and beauty and grace shall follow me all the days of my life. isadora rocks

  • Beautiful. It really makes me want to learn how to do this.

  • Wooo hoooo!!!

  • Yeah!!! :-)

  • Thank you all so much! The music is "Baltar Panics" & "The Thousandth Landing" from Battlestar Gallactica, and Solace's Bharaat. This particular dance is a modern fusion of a great many traditions, yes, including martial arts. So glad y'all enjoy!

  • Captivating - Sensual - Inspiring! Thank you for sharing your goddess within.

  • That was AWESOME!!!! That IS the best dance/sword video I've seen.

  • Very impressed! I see a lot of different influences here. Lots of bellydance moves, yes, but theres some Indian and maybe some kind of martial arts influence. Clean strong poses mixed with nice soft movements as well. VERY NICE!!!

  • whats the song called?

  • This is the first time I've ever seen a sword dance. You put on a great performance, very mesmerizing! Is this a type of traditional dance? And by the way I love that music what kind is it and if you don't mind where can I find it? Thanks :D

  • Izzi ..you are amazing! and a joy in every way to watch ...watching you reminds me of every reason I love this dance

  • What talent, and how inspiring!!

  • Izzy's got it goin' on!

  • Woooow...I was only planning on watching a few minutes of this n ended up watching the whole thing. Beautiful lines and amazing isolation! I'm jealous :P

  • I can't explain the feeling. She's greattttttttt!!!

  • Captivating! And your technique is so crisp and precise. Bravo!!

  • very nice movements, she just let the rythim flow in her soul. amazing!

  • Wow, mijn contacts dried out from my not daring to blink for ten minutes for fear of missing something. A modern day Isadora Duncan? Or is it Martha Graham?

  • Superb! You're gorgeous...inside and out...you let the music move you and it is just stunning!

  • Really, really beautiful!

  • just... wow

  • That was captivating! The costume, the choreography, and the dancing were all beautifully done. What an inspiration, she's amazing.

  • What's the music she's using, I'd LOVE to have it... it'd be awsome to play with...

I love this girl, she's wicked!

  • The music is a mix of "Baltar Panics" and "The Thousandth Landing" from Battlestar Galactica, and "Bhaarat" by Solace.

  • Thanks so much! I'm gonna try to get my friend to find the songs!

  • The opening and the close are from Battlestar Gallactica TV series, "Baltar Panics" and "The Thousandth Landing"; the middle section is Solace's Bhaarat!! I'm only as wicked as my music, baybeeee!!! Good thing there are lots of wicked musicians out there!!! *evil grin*

  • I hear that! Music makes all the difference!!

  • I tried and tried to dance to 1000th landing, love love love that piece, but I wasn't up to it. I was stunned to see your interpretation. FANTASTIC! You are the dancer I wish I was.

  • One of the best sword routines I have seen in a long time. Its given me some more ideasd for my own. Thanx for that video. GRRRRRRRRReat!!
