It’s a common misconception to confuse Mexican performers with Spanish performers, because, Mexico has a strong cultural link with Spain, after all, Mexico, once was call The New Spain “La Nueva España”, remember?, Enrique y Ana came from Spain but like many other performers they succeed more in Mexico than in Spain, same like Parchis. And remember Rocio Durcal, a Spanish woman performer that had more fame and success in Mexico that in her own country.
It sounds great. The only thing it's that the duo "Enrique y Ana",were not Mexican. They were from Spain. And "disco chino" was not a Mexican kid song. They performed in Latin America and Spain.
And the song "disco chino",was from a movie that they did called "Las aventuras de Enrique y Ana.
My best friend told me his mom used to listen to it back in the day. They are Mexican and from El Paso. I assumed that Enrique Y Ana were Mexican and ditto for the song. I was also under the impression that "Las Aventuras de Enrique y Ana" was a kids' movie and thus the song was also for kids.
