  • Awwwe shes just a.shy.little. Flower

  • Also I am curious if any Angel parents have ever heard of IAHP.org in Philadelphia area. They are a professional institute that works with brain-injured children + parents and claim to have hundreds of success stories over the years with various brain-related disorders. It would be interesting to see if there are any Angel parents out there who might have worked with IAHP and had any success.

  • I am a father of an Angel myself - Asiya Leanne. My angel doesn't walk by herself YET but whenever I have her with me, I try to walk her by holding her arms. Maliah walking on her own gives me a ray of hope for my own daughter.

What I found fascinating was the part when Maliah couldn't get the door open, she tried to get a peek from underneath the door. That's something Asiya has always done ever since she has been able to pull herself up to the door knobs. Wish Maliah the best!!

  • @kapils2005 That is exactly how Maliah started walking we "made" her walk everywhere while holding her hand(s) we also used a bike made by Rifton that got her accustom to bending her knees and ankles in a walking manner :) Best of luck to you and your family

  • Your Angel Maliah is just adorable

  • Amazing video. Most people do not realize how wonderful it is to see your child smiling!

  • I guess you dont realize that one of main characteristics of Angelman syndrome is spontaneous laughter or as you refer smiling...

  • @nesionFCE Well my child does have Angelman Syndrome so I'd say I know quite a bit about the condition. Just a guess though....you guessed wrong...Idk..like I said just a guess.

  • @therapies4kids Very true we may not hear the "I love you's" and the first words etc but at least we have the smile :) thank you for your post !!

  • Thank you very much for this video, we all can learn a lot of you. Medicine Student

  • @pedromuchasveces Thank you much for your post! My hope was to not only help to raise awareness but to give hope to other families as well as help educate others so that in the future new diagnosis will not have to endure the same challenges my family had to.

  • My big brother has angelman's syndrome.

This video is just so heartwarming.

My brother is 19 and he can't walk, talk, or anything in that range.

I am studying to be a geneticicst and hope to one day find a cure (=

  • @ppackers0430 I'm sorry to hear your brother hasn't seen the chance to walk *yet*. It must be frustrating for him. I hope and pray with everything in me you do reach your goal in finding that cure! I would love to speak with you and/or your family about just living a life with AS as long as you have. If you're comfortable doing so plz call me @ 618-972-6491 my name is Marty and I am Maliah's (aka the little girl in the videos) mother. Thank you and I do hope to someday hear from you.

  • i love how she nodded "no" then turned around! my son coby does the same thing. so awesome & looking under the door! nice to see im not alone in this.

    coby's mom

  • @cobygalendez Oh no hun you are so far from alone. I know at times it may seem like we are but truth is we are not. There are MANY MANY MANY others in our same shoes. If you'd like to talk sometime feel free to phone me. My name is Marty and I am Maliah's mom. Maliah is 7 now. I dont know Coby's age but even if we are younger maybe I have some tips you've not yet come across. Call me ANYTIME: 618-972-6491 hope to hear from you soon.

  • @cobygalendez My neice was just diagnosed, she is one and already having seizures. Were all very worried.

  • I can't wait for my daughter to start walking she's 41/2 years old! The doctors still don't know what she has... But they thought it could be Angelman. Thanks for you hope and courage!

  • @sabree73 You are very welcome. I'm more than honored to hear you say "Thank you for your hope and courage." That was my exact goal when posting my videos for when I first began my journey there was NOTHING for us to go off of. So even just hearing that from you tells me I have achieved what I set out to do. By the way are we walking yet over there???? I hope so! If not like I tell everyone it will just come out of no where when you least expect it.

  • Congratulations, our angel just started walking a few months ago. Maliah does a fabulous job!
