For those comments that I am reading below. Lee did NOT film the Pagoda level scenes in Korea, they were all filmed in Hong Kong on the film set. The outside scenes, including the outside fighting, demostrations and Pagoda search itself were all filmed in Korea, but not the actual floors, the floors were filmed back in Hong Kong on the set...
It pretty cool to see clip of bruce lee that i din't know about but it's for a publicity ? Shouldn't it be in a much better quality let alone in color, i mean it's in 1972 not 1920.Anyway glad that they find this and that you share it with us ;)
Bruce Lee was an extraordinary athlete! To be able to throw a variety of repetitive controlled kicks to the face of a 7’-3 ½” man is incredible! Being as innovative and electrifying as he was, we could only imagine how he would’ve redefined the action movie genre had he lived until today!
Well at least I know now that from ALL the stills they have of this that this was probably NOT intended to be part of the actual film. These were probably meant to be promotional stills, shots, and/or footage to promote the movie.
Fist of Fury had very similar photos and stills that never got used in the movie (Bruce with slicked back hair and white suit) but we have a TON of stills of them.
Now I understand where these mysterious pictures on the 78s Version of Game of Death on the backside of the vhs tape come from. Because Kareem had no shirt on them, while in the movie he has the blue one.
Watch it on 0:45 or 0:55, the the normal and the flying kick from Bruce.
Just search on google Mein letzter Kampf (the original german name of GOD) and you can find both pictures from the vhs on the first site (Kareem with no shirt).
Thanks to the uploader, another secret explained ;)
@Dracduh - No offence but... the shirtless pics of Kareem were never a mystery. Anyone with half a brain cell could work out that tonnes of photos were taken to promote the film during photoshoots on the set, and actors take off their shirts, or put them on, or wear different sneakers...etc.. 'lol There was no mystery.
this might be the rarest footage I've seen on Bruce. I've never seen this footage in any documentaries or even mentioned in the countless books or articles I have read.
Thanks, it's just a shame the video this has been duplicated onto has degraded so much, I wonder if the source still even exists?
Probably not, knowing the way HK tv and film companies neglected their recordings. So much has been lost on Bruce Lee.
The noise is air condition at GH studios , twas hot as hell in August.......some of the jumps seen here where used on lobby cards & stills to promote the movie.
@lucasnooker ..he slipped because of the type of floor used on the cheap set and the fact that he was pulling everything...pulling his kicks. When you are thrusting a kick out and pull that energy back without sending the energy INTO an object(someones body or a bag or sheil) that energy comes back at you..especially as forcefully as he kicked..so, he slipped. Believe me..you never see him fall when he connecs with something.
The pagoda scenes were noted to be EXTREMELY difficult to film because eveyone was slipping all over the place and losing grip on their weapons and whatnot because the weather around where the pagoda scenes were filmed were exceedingly hot/humid and slippery causing Bruce to become very frustrated during filming these scenes.
awsome video. Where did you get such rare footage? I thought I've seen all the rare footage that can be seen, but this is good. keep them coming if you get ahold of more.....any new footage of bruce Lee is pure insperation
super cool vid ... PierreMetier thanks ..... J K D.....
Robert Clouse recalls that:"The first time he met you, you'd expect him to shake hands but instead he'd step back and flick out his foot so fast you could feel the air move right at the tip of your nose. Then he'd take your hand and place it on his stomach. It was kind of his calling card."
This is incredibly rare footage! I've seen a lot of stills from this session, I recognize Bruce's high kicks and flying kicks. But I never knew it was filmed too. Unbelievable! I kept wondering for years why there were so many photos of Kareem and Bruce in action but with Kareem wearing no shirt - this explains it. A terribly noisy video. Makes the whole watch very eerie - reminds me of the creepy footage Ringu (The Ring). Anyway, thanx for this revealing contribution!
Is amazing how bruce kick that high, and the flying kicks too, what a shame the film was not completed Bruce should had finish this one and tell warner brothers to wait until february for enter the dragon, i'm sure that would be another story.
This first started making the rounds in the States back in 1988 when a version was brought back from Hong Kong. I have a version only slightly better then this one but not much. Sadly there is a gentleman in Japan who has a copy of this in near mint quality and without all the picture problems. But he will not release it to the public. maybe in time.
wow thanks, this is truly very hard 2 find, if any1 watches dis video n STILL sez bruce is only an actor n no a fighter it will prove that he is just stubborn and jealous of bruce lee n doesnt want 2 admit how gr8 he is, btw nice background!
hot! Wish we could hear Bruce's voice...

Maybe it was the air conditioner but it's fact that the GOD pagoda scenes were filmed at the Beopjusa Temple in South Korea.
