so true, nintendo came up with the idea to make a cd opperated console based on the snes and called it a playstation, they further developed it with sony but in the end thought fuck it we can do better and scrapped it. then sony released it and from what i remember it sucked, didnt have the power to fully use the cd cappacity unless u playing a huge rpg or heaps of video content. AND THEY DIDNT EVEN CHANGE THE NAME!! they should pay nintendo royalties for its use

ps1 had the multitap for 4 controllers, twisted metal was where it was at... i'm not even sure that had 4p. but there was a multitap. so ps1 could do that. plus you could mod it to play burned games, but getting a new game to go on a 64cartridge is like pulling teeth. plus some ps1 games could go in a cd player to listen to your soundtrack. not even going into controller layout. no sane person will argue for the 64 unless its all they played. but im talkin just about the game,

Downlad, certain emulators have netplay capabilities, Project64k is an example, I think. It's free and legal to use PJ64 since it's only an emulator.

For ROMs, google will serve you well, it's illegal to own ROMs in the USA, and illegal in Europe if you don't own the game. Dunno about other countries' standing on the matter, though the chances of actually being prosecuted for owning ROMs is really low.
