i'm a black female. i love angelina. and i think she did aa wonderful job potraying a biracial woman. why is it such a big deal! Did you know that mariane pearl chose her personallY? pple are throwing this way out of proportion. if no ones noticed halle hasb played mixed and black characters many times. Not even if you're Angelina Jolie and have adopted kids of varying races and claim a family legend of supposed 1/393 that is completely undocumented by tribal records or the Dawes roll. It doesn't make you an honorary Black, nor does it make donning blackface alright.

Her accent in this movie is hilarious. Bad, but hilarious. She was horribly miscast in this film.

Okay, first of all, Mariane Pearl specifically asked for Angelina Jolie to play her. And what does it matter that she crossed a line playing a different race? Where else are you going to find a woman who not only could play the part, look like the real Mariane Pearl, pull off her very distinctive, rare accent, AND be of Dutch-Jewish, Afro-Latino-Cuban and Chinese Cuban ancestry descent?

I think Angelina was perfectly cast. And her performance deserves to be awarded, most definitely.

Of course she chose Angelina Jolie! Who wouldn't want one of the most beautiful actresses to portray them? Doesn't mean it's accurate! Doesn't mean it's appropriate! No she wasn't perfectly cast. It was a vanity project for Jolie, plain and simple. Plus she sucked at it. Hee hee.

There are so many women of color or mixed race actresses who would have been wonderful in this role that frankly would have made a better Lifetime movie. The box office numbers for the film were awful, remember.
