  • Living close by to Stewart Int. I had always heard rumors of Kiss rehearsing there. I had a friend who was even fortunate enough to see them there. This confirms the rumor as true.

  • Wow thanks for posting this. LOVE IT !!!

  • The audio isn't recorded from the camera.. they are taking a line out from the board.

  • AAAAAAwwwwwwssssssommmmeeeeee!!!! Love it.............

  • att mr singer this is how to play drc on the drums..

  • @nastymonsters2 he can`t play like peter did

  • what i would give to have been able to see that tour.... hearing king of the night time world just brought back some awesome memories and feelings

  • @necramoniumdotc0m Ok but they did have the concert shortly after you dumb ass..

  • @DWcriticism This is not a soundcheck before a concert but a rehearsal. Great footage Necra!

  • I've seen KISS on every tour from Asylum to the "Farewell" tour (3 times on the reunion tour), and I would give every single show I've seen to go back and see one show on this tour! Dynasty is my favorite KISS album, and would have loved to see the supporting tour. But, alas, I was only 6 back then. Ah well, thanks for posting this. :)

  • Nobody can rush a tempo like Peter Criss.

  • I live a half hour away from there and saw them there with the Alive 2 stage. Theater techniques and Tasco sound were also at Stewart. They rehearsed in hanger "E" there. We even have some paperwork out of the dumpster from there. George Benson also used Stewart and Tasco sound.

  • @Tommyr Are you sure you don't mean George Clinton?

  • @tomthefunky Nope BENSON. Saw his guitar case there at Tasco sound.

  • Wow, Ace is using his, then new, Ibanez Destroyer. That's the one he later gave to Paul. VERY COOL

  • This is footage that Bill Aucoin had of which some exsists in his sisters attic

in connecticut. He filmed everything. Bill got his start in production for WGBH public television in Boston

  • Yes - been a fan for 25 years and this is awesome!

  • They are so good in this video. Is there more or is there just 9:55 minutes of this dress rehearsal? Is it on any DVD ?

  • Best live band in the world!

  • I've seen KISS 42 times since 1979 and I will always LOVE THIS BAND!!!

  • Ace is playing an explorer and not a Les Paul/ Never seen that before...

  • @sledRacer1 I saw this show in 1976 and Ace played a Les Paul all night....not sure what was going on in this video....

  • @sledRacer1 It's actually an Ibanez Destroyer, a copy of the Gibson. Gibson took them to court for ripping them...He gave that to Paul sometime in early '77 I believe. Paul mentioned the guitar & Ace said he didn't remember giving it to him. Ha!!

  • ah ya know... it's peter! he's actually hitting hard here. sometimes peter sounded weak, but here he's on fire!

  • Bob Ezrin's strict disciplinary ethic can be heard by this point, the band was tighter than ever. Ace was starting to use cocaine a lot more at this point, too.

  • COOL... I grew up on the other side of the Hudson River growing up during this time. I KNEW they rehearsed there - and remember Peter Criss had been in a car accident not too far from there (around 1977). Incidentally, Ace Frehley would time to time hang around my home town near one of the music shops (he also produced the video My Name is Eugene in one of the local bars with another guy who did work on my guitar... cool stuff).

This is the first time I ever saw this stuff. thanks!

  • I saw Kiss in 1976 at the Toledo (OH) Sports Arena w/Starz. It was my first concert! :)

  • Thank you! I agree with Crush, still hungry. You never realize when you go to a concert, how much work goes on behind the scenes. Before they ever get in front of you.

  • WOW I just gotta say it again WOW I have seen KISS 12 times going back to the 70's They are my all time favorite group and I have never heard them sound this awesome NEVER!!!! VOCAL AND DRUMS AND GUITAR !!!!!never!!!! MAKES YOU WONDER IF ITS DRESS REHEARSALS WITH CANNED MUSIC BUT THATS NOT IT EITHER. wow I just cant get over how f'n awesome they sound

  • @crush927 They were on fire for this rehearsal, and for the good sound, i think its because the camera is far back, catching the sound just right. And 1976 was one of the best years for KISS. Starting to make it big time but still hungry to rock.

  • @necramoniumdotc0m The spirit of 76 rehearsal show has got to be an easter egg from kissology. No?. Dont get mad. Just asking. Cheers.

  • @crush927

There would have been very few people apart from KISS there so the pressures off. You can definatly tell they are more relaxed than usual. I agree with you this is probably the most energetic accurate performance iv'e ever heard from them.

  • This is amazing! Probably the best I've ever heard KISS sound live! Paul's voice is really on it. Very exciting to watch.

  • Great stuff from a hard charging young group named KISS. This tour blew the roof off every areana, and left me saying, "Now THAT'S how it's supposed to be done!" They set the standard as to what a live show should look like. Many tried, but very few reach the benchmark set by KISS. Absolutely top notch stuff!!

  • Somebody better call the fire house! Those tempos are just smokin'...

  • Love it...KISS was my 1st concert ever at 7 years old on The Dynasty Tour lol..Just today, and alot of times, almost every week, I drive by The Stewart Airport Exit all the time on my way home from The Haunted SHANLEY HOTEL in Napanoch, NY...Gotta Love It :) Small World :)

  • wow...this is a bad a** video!!..whoever made it, knew one day it would be visible for all the world to see..

  • The story I heard about this was that ace had just gotten a new camera, and was testing it out on these recordings.

  • More trivia about Stewart, George Benson also rehearsed there.

  • ive never seen ace with a destroyer live. an original explorer yeah, but not often. used 'em in '76 cause they were a new design and fit the space ace vibe, but he had to go back to the best....les paul

  • is this more of the rehersals at stewart AFB. they did that there for years.

  • yep, very cool!

  • Yeah, it's an Ibanez pre-lawsuit Explorer that Paul gave him. Looks like the '77 costumes though. Man they are tight, very cool video, thanks.

  • I think I have this rehearsal on a bootleg album. Destroyer rehearsals, New York 1976.

  • Excellent footage!!! Destroyer..best Kiss album ever!! I still have my original :)

    Kiss army member since 76...

    64m >:-)

  • @thecoolestdad Actually, Paul played a Gibson Firebird in the early days of KISS. Ace did whip out a Explorer every once in a while back then. Personally, I always thought Ace looked cooler with a Explorer than a Les Paul.

    awesome vid, btw.

  • @spunkybrewster1972

They also rocked a ton of Ibanez Destroyers which were Explorer copies,

Ed Roman has one of Ace's for sale now. He only wants 30k for it. LOL

  • @mrblackwell467 Ya, the the Destroyers were great copies. Even EVH used one in the 70s.

...and LOL at Ed Roman. What a troll. Really...the man's a actual troll. :-P

  • Kiss rocking hard. A lot of days i'd like to go back to 76 but those days are gone forever.

  • This has to be the first time I have ever seen Ace playing another guitar besides a Les Paul.It appeared to be a Gibson Firebird that he was playing.Wonder why?

  • @thecoolestdad I believe Ace is playing a Gibson Explorer.

  • @83jbolt yeah you are right,it is an explorer.I don't know why I said a firebird.Do they even make a guitar called a firebird?Was I thinking of cars?LOL!

  • @thecoolestdad Not that I'm aware of,,,but then again, I'm a Drummer.

  • @thecoolestdad Ace is playing a Ibanez Destroyer model, its a pre lawsuit model, back when Ibanez made Gibson copys. Ace played an Ibanez Destroyer on this whole tour, however Gibson paid him to use one of there own explorers for tv appearances.

  • I think this is a hidden thing on one of the Kissology DVDs

  • @syxxgunner Nope, bootleg tape.

  • @necramoniumdotc0m Hopefully this will be Kissology 4.

  • @syxxgunner --- it is?......how do you find it?

  • This is so fucking cool! The jump from the smaller, darker Alive! stage to the Destroyer stage was a big transition.

  • grew up 1/2 away. never had a clue. very cool to see this. thanx

  • They also rehearsed there for the Alive 2 tour, we saw them in hanger "E" there. Theater Techniques and Tasco sound were also located on that air base. Some of the people that worked there bitch about how loud they were all night! LOL!

  • so much fun watching this stuff for me,seems even more bombastic without the crowd somehow! would love to have this on dvd.

  • this is so cool to see rare footage of this, i used to work there at stewart on the maintanence crew awhile back, man this so cool i only heard of this but never seen it until now. this is great in full costume. awsome video

    memories this brings back.

  • @dyna5899 Cool! I live nearby just north of Stewart. We stumbled on them while going to the airshow there. They were rehearsing the Alive 2 show.

  • Most exciting time in rock history. Period.

  • Where did you get this??!! They sound pretty good. Never seen this before. Thanks for posting.
