  • Yeah this is great, Its about improving your technique and getting your hip movement correct. The people here complaining and winging have no idea.

Of course the ball won't hit back, This is about practicing technique. Body mechanics.

  • @TRanceifyable its not about improving tech because it will be different to how youd do anything on a human, its about dynamic balance and body awareness on an unstable base.It wont benefit advanced players much apart from a warm up

  • @scarred10 We all have different opinions that's cool, I'm as you say "An advanced player" & compete a lot. I use this to practice my techniques when I have no humans around me. 30 minutes is enough.

The dynamic balance and weight distribution throughout is a good training tool. Cheers

  • @TRanceifyable You cant use it to practise techs,a dummy would be used for that if at all.Its not a matter of opinion.its fact.Ive been grappling 15 yrs and work as a sports rehab specialist, the balance and weight thing should be instinctive at your level, thees nothing to be gained from the ball now for you,do strength and conditioning by yourself.

  • @scarred10 How do you know I don't?

  • LOVE!!

  • good work i do it myself with more fitness control

  • So im gonna go get one at target but the only one that has a high rating is the reebok..but thats from the pregnant women, it has sand in it too....?

HELP PLEASE I NEED TO KNOW WHAT BRAND!

  • @OffspringFTW65 buy one thats antiburst and will take alot of weight(its written on it),youll pay a bit more but its safer.

  • but ball dont hit back good strech and warm up but dont see how this can make u fight better.

  • @yearightnignog it helps balance...look at andre galvao

  • @yearightnignog bjj guys dont hit back either, its for grapplers.

  • please every one check " contato constante " on youtube and you'll see the real " ball exercicise " if it can be called like that

  • this is a technique developed and patented by HUMBERTO SILVEIRA from Bahia-Brasil ...

  • Sou atleta de bjj aqui no Brasil, no estado do Riu Grande do Sul, e gostei muito das tecnicas utilizadas por vocês no treinamento com a bola.

    muito bom!

  • This is a good video many top tier jiui jitsu guys do these workouts. Andre Galvao, Jacare, Leo Vieira to name a few.

  • Oh yeah, you think you're though? Do it with marbles.

  • WTF tennis ball ?

  • Comment removed

  • @kerria181 He didn't win he got destroyed by Leo Vieira!

  • @kerria181 dude Eddie didnt win ADCC 03. he beat Royler but didnt win the whole thing.

  • can u do it on a normal floor cuase if so i might try it at home

  • how is this helping ?

  • sic..A+++++

  • Frank started ????? OMG

    kkkk

  • this is really fun after training.... at the moment I have been trying to stand up on the larger ball and it is actually really hard. But its good to just relax and have fun :)

  • @Kc1189 not at all. Chi Sau is used in place of sparing, this is just sport specific excercises. No different than a boxer chopping wood for power, or a doing sprawl drills. aliveness is sparring in real time, and most martial arts do not do that.

  • Frank shamrock started this ball workout and after that people start using them

  • He should have told you to lay off the beer and ho ho's.

  • I Just want to Jiu Jitsuying Him, Hot Blonde !!!

  • Americans cant do BJJ!?!? how about guys like Jeff Monson, Bill Cooper, Ryan Hall, Jeff Glover, Mike Fowler, JT Torres who altho is an up and comer..will put u to sleep..EASY..and last but not certainly not least..BJ PENN..whos american..unless u thought hawaii was in asia

  • @SMDlite

Ask bj penn if he is american or hawaiian, he will tell u hawaiian.

Most hawaiians dont think of themselves as americans.

  • @webjockeycontact I was born, raised, and still live on Oahu. I am part-Hawaiian. I think of myself as Hawaiian Japanese. I also am VERY proud to call myself an American.

Yes, some Kanaka Maoli despise the fact that the White people came and brought their diseases and selfish way of life. However, to say that "MOST" Hawaiians feel that way is stretching it a bit. There are many PROUD Hawaiian Americans who love being U.S. citizens, even volunteering to serve in the armed forces.

  • @SMDlite and rafael lovato jr..only american to win nogi worlds and mundials

  • @SMDlite Dont forget Cyborg.. Roberto, Cyborg Abreau. *I kant spill it* He is from south beach, and a total bad ass...

  • @kerria181 well, but i am. brasil is the best in brazilian jiu jitsu and u cant say im wrong, he was lucky and probably his teacher is brazilian

  • that would be becuase it's more popular there. thats like saying 'america sucks at football' becuase it's not very populer there. (i mean football not american football)

  • @kerria181 congratulations, america won, ONE. wht about all the others weight categories? what about the other sub competitions, what about world championship? shut up, just coz 1 guy won lol, gracies suck btw, just roger is good at the moment.

    whos talkng about judo?

  • Word. I spend many hours doing the same thing!

  • lol.. americans cant roll bjj man.. give up... not even with the best fighters

  • q bostaaa... qqer um faz isso aeee,

    gringo ridiculooo, aheuaheuahea

  • No wonder I felt so much pressure in my nuts when I sparred him...

  • this guy would strangle you until your eyes bleed silly fuck

  • I have elephantitis of the testicles so all this comes naturally to me. Even at the bus stop.

  • This is excellent. Very similar to the Ginastica Naturale that Rickson and other guys do.

  • ok baldwin

  • good stuff

  • Pretty cool stuff!

  • thats kind of funny, i was just watching some random bjj playlist and this (the second video on said playlist) is one filmed at the gym i go to, featuring my coach tom...

  • where did these guys learn this?

  • tis is god

  • that guy on the right looks like one of the baldwin brothers

  • Incredible. One of the best BJJ training clips i've ever seen. This is the future.

  • I love it...I do it all the time but not as detailed. I am going to gym right now to do it. Awesome !!!

  • the Brazilian culture is a real pique of interest to most American jiu jitsu practitioners

  • Reminds me of a cat on catnip, looks good for core muscles

  • Fun drill while high not so much otherwise.

  • This is like BJJ Tai Chi!!! Great Stuff!!!

  • Id' do it with 2lb wrist and ankle weights. Extra speed and power come game day.

  • cara é bom na bola

  • nice

  • Great clip! If you want some more drills with swiss-ball then check out my clips.

I have trained Worlds Strongest man, Royce and many other mma stars, cirque du soleil performers etc on these techniques. Once again , good clip, keep up the good work!

  • we do this in our class too it helps ALOT :D

  • great vid

check out my site via username

  • Good stuff.

  • Inspiring... i am mainly a Judofighter, but i do also Boxing. I´ll try that balltraining. Check out my Videos for my strength training. You can also see a few fights.

  • I have a Karate background. True background is biomechanics. This is a great technique I have been using for years in rehab with athletes. I train a guy that will be training under Jens Pulver, and I have him do this non-contact sport specific movement. It is great for training positional awarness and it is a great way to try different movements that you would not typically try while in combat. It is great conditioning exercise that can be done wearing a 25# vest add ankle and thigh weights.

  • Sweet demo! Taking it to the next level... way to go!

  • This is used by the top mma fighters, Frank Shamrock is one who use's the stability ball and afterwards will even sap over to a small medicine ball and use that aswell.

  • i wonder what the top level grapplers think of this

  • i wonder what the top level grapplers think of this

  • great

  • Although nice, I think the "core mechanics" of Jiu Jitsu are done with the presence of the opponent, no? This is the source of weights and counterweights, the pulleys and leverages of it.

But thanks for posting this, I'll give it a try one of these days.

  • Absolutely. To get better at jits you have to do jits. The stability ball workout is simply a drill to help develop connective pressure, to train your body to keep pressure on at all times. Analogous to a speed bag for developing timing or a heavy bag to develop power. It's not meant to replace rolling with opponents, it's just a useful drill.

When Dave is talking about core mechanics in the interview that was done a week before the stability ball workout.

  • @erikmfx it makes yo body better...

  • dam it takes hell of practice because i tried

it yah ok and feel on my ass but ok no giveup

  • looks like it makes total sense. I remember doing some ball balance work but not to this degree

  • any videos of him grappling ?

  • This is a pretty good movement drill. Definitely going to give a a go.

  • well lets see the application of this theory

  • Really good way to improve fluidity and resistance in your game.

May be you can add some other way to use stab & med ball to improve conditionning or even JJ.

  • great drill- this will improve your game gents

    do it do it now!!!!

  • Not sure how you can SEE it. He seemed to think it did and so did his blackbelt coach.

  • yeah, that's fine and all, but what if this kid sucks at jiu jitsu
