I have always hated this aspect of this show. Someone bids and is 5,000 dollars short, and the other person is a couple bucks over. Who made the better bid? I've always found that totally unfair.
While sometimes the better bid does lose, the over rule adds another dimension to bidding - you want to be close (especially for the DSW), but if you overdo it, you're done. It's one of the best temptations in game shows
I thought they had gotten rid of the Green Screen effects on trips and replaced them with Video Screens and also installed a video wall behind the audience.
Remember when showcases were $13,000? Yeah, Mike'd never stoop that low.

the sad thing...if he didnt change his mind i think he would have won -_-

That overbid was extremely painful.
azcade101 5 months ago
@azcade101 there was one girl who overbid by $1. Her bid was 12000, and the showcase was 11999....now that is painful

It's makes for great TV – at the expense of the losing contestant, though – when someone overbids by just that much. That must have been painful. :(

what's scary is if he would have bid $8,000 he would of won o_O

Lesson learned: Don't listen to your friends on a game show...

$9 only?, ouch, that must've sucked man

This is nothing like when someone bid $12,000 on their showcase, and the ARP was $11,999 and it was also a double overbid.

What date did that $24,200 bid occur?
animfan1 3 years ago
If he wouldn't have listened to his friends, his $8,000+ bid would've won.

He probably forgot about the NO GOING OVER rule and thought that he was a DOUBLE SHOWCASE WINNER

How did someone with a "We Know The Right Price!" shirt on even get into Studio 33 with the new policies?

That Jet Ski showcase is probably the least expensive showcase in the post-Barker era.
zachhoran 3 years ago
I would agree...except I pointed out what the cheaper one was in the description. :P

I see. They must have taped the episodes with set additions like sometime early. How do they work on their taping schedules in Hollywood?

Taping dates will catch up to that in about a month.
