There was a programme on TV, a documentary - at this stage, Debbie and co admitted to being off their faces on drugs inc heroin. It was Peter Leeds (the snake) who made tons of cash from the Blondie phenomena, not the band themselves, in fact they were broke. I hope that now they are back and on the road, they make zillions! I dont think debbie had a huge problem with drugs at this point.......I think she had had it with Blondie. she may have had other things to worry about the fact Chris was sick....... And sick of not being able to be who she was at that time....what an awful situation to be in......

In 1982 I saw Blondie perform in Providence, Rhode Island. The arena was half full. The show was so lacking in energy, the performances were so sterile and pointless. Everyone except Clem Burke looked like they were going through the motions. Debbie was entirely lacking in vocal power and charisma. She was like a robot. And I was a huge Blondie fan. It was sad.

Debbie has always had that akward way of dancing to this kind of music. I think it's very charming in a way. In the Blondie "punkrock" period t wasn't that obvious since she could just be as wild as she wanted to be on stage. Anyway, I don't mind.

Yeah masaiboy, I remember that hole time when this album came out. It wasn't a good time for Blondie, infact it was the fall of the band. Mike Chapman also ran off with all the monies they had made in the past, now I don't know that for a fact, but remember hereing it somewhere. Then when they were on the Hunter tour Frank got busted for pot on there tour bus. Blondie is back and are comeing out with a new cd I think in the sping of 09.

I never heard of that Chapman thing. He was only the producer. The group dumped the original manager Peter Leeds after Parallel Lines LP and paid lots of money for that. I actually look forward to new Blondie. Keep clear of the busts though!

@toiroforcado Debbie described it as "he (the manager) did good business for him, not for all of them." They were also spending more money than what they were earning. Drugs were taking them everything.

Debbie looks out of it because she was. They all were during 'The Hunter' period. Mike Chapman, who produced their albums, said that the session performers & instrumentalists they got in to do the brass section we're all Blondie's junkie mates and that although they were talented musicians, the whole recording of the album was a nightmare!

this was shot during her Videodrome and Kookoo era. Her hair was a nice brown color then. She got the wig to promote their last album "Hunter". The wig looked terrible and that song has to be the worst Blondie song ever. Besides Debbie is a "live singer", she sucks at lip singing. She still looks pretty hot here though.
