1. Yes, there is backlight for the keyboard.

2. Yes, there is WiFi on board

3. The keyboard is a matter of personal preference. I think it's a bit too cramped for my own use. That said, the on-screen keyboard is a lot better.

I got the Blackberry Tour when I switched to verizon from the iPhone as it was the only phone that looked "nice" like the iPhone. Now this comes around a couple months later :( How much would it be to switch? I really almost hate the Blackberry...

Thanks for the "review" (or whatever you want to call it). I plan on getting this phone, and the only thing I wasn't so sure about was the keyboard.. I have the Touch pro though, and didn't mind the keyboard at all.

i see there is a lock mechanism, but can you create a password for it? like you have to type a password to unlock it everytime its turned off or sleeps. some people might not like that but i would like this option because there seems to be a lot of important info that you wouldnt want some one to find out if you were to drop or lose your phone.

There is a lock mechanism. Android takes a more graphical approach rather than having you enter an alphanumeric password. With Android, it gives you a grid of dots and you set a pattern by connecting dots a certain way. To unlock the device, you'll have to know that unlock grid and which dots to connect.
