I don't get what's the point of this setup. With those six displays in that layout you get the same aspect ratio than a wide 16:9/16:10 single monitor. If you use three monitors, ok, at least you'll be able to get a wider point of view. But this is completely pointless, resolution is the only advantage.
HEY! This does NOT give you more picture, only a wider screen at higher res. ATI website lies!!! You DO NOT GET MORE THAN YOU NORMALLY SEE, IT'S JUST WIDER. ATI makes it seem like you can have the left and right side of the game on as well as what you would normally see with one monitor, giving you a 180 view. ATI's demo is BS!! WHAT A RIP OFF!
as great as that is.........wouldnt it be cheaper and easier to just hook it up to an HD TV?, then theres no more annoying borders, plus you dont have to sit in a chair :D
6 monitors on L4D is just stupid, are there any good vids of AMD demoing "Eyefinity" with something more productive? playing games on this many monitors just makes the game look stupid and take the experience away cuse no one wants to see the make of your own monitor in ur croshair when you trying for a headshot, now im sure "Eyefinity" is all good but for games why not just make rly big monitor!
Because of the Bezels, the configuration is only good for flight-sims and racers. Playing any shooter will be exceptionally annoying, unless of course you use projectors.
@dark2koneko I don't think it's good for ANY type of gaming. Put some black electric tape on a hooked up 50inch tv.....see how awesome it would be then!
@seanlad I'm guess you've never gamed on a multi-mon rig. The Bezels arn't that distracting once you get into the game, unless of course there's a bezel straight through the middle of the display. that's why I chose a 5x1 Portrait setup.
multi-monitor is cool and the resolution is very high, but the bezels can get annoying with 2 rows. Having only 3 screens would actually give a wider perspective compared to 6 screens, which looks like a big screen with bezels. If you simply want a large screen size, a projector might be more cost efficient.
honestly, i really like the 6 screens but the boarders i find really distracting.
i think id just use the money for the 6 screens to buy one BIG ass screen instead.
if the manufacturers of monitors have any brains they will start to build screens with virtually no boarders secifically for this purpose, then id get 9 screens :D ow ye!!
Yeah, but currently if you get one big screen it'll only support a native resolution of 2560x1600 usually. And this is probably about 80" - 85" total...and as far as I know you're not going to find a 85" screen anywhere, unless of course you use a projector.
hmm i didnt consider the resolution tbh, just screen area. i see your point, but i have seen 90" lcd's but thier crazy money so..... the borders just bug me. i hope screen manufacturers just start makeing screens purely for this purpose with no boarders. then id be all over this kind of setup. even with the boarders its pritty dam impresive, im just picky on details i supose, matter of taste really
I'd rather wait for Nvidia's DX11 card, and play games in 3D, and use a 3D Projector, to play DX11 games in 3D on a 100 Inch screen.... but that's just me.

man 3 screens is already bad enough with bezels... but 2 rows of 3 across, between the the top row and bottom row bezels would seem annoying.

Exactly...

I would rather play on a single screen personally, the bezels distract me way to much

i think it would be better with 3 screens,
because when they played left 4 dead the thing that you use to aim isn't even visible
