  • Not arguing Drewsky, just over time building engines and some with the biggest names in drag racing that tune and build the setups have told me crazy to not reinforce engine especially stock blocks and guarantee I will destroy it and usually recommend aftermarket blocks whether i order somewhere else or not. I have had a lot of tunes done for the many setups but i just like to be safe and not waste money if i dont have to

  • @crimescene Actually 5.0 blocks are limited in 500hp range and are known to crack. Hes pushing limits but its his choice on using stock or not. Dont get me wrong lot of ppl have done it but its borrowed time annd depends how u drive it

  • @saleensonoma working at a shop, we have factory blocks push 700 hp on a regular basis, one 347 produced 620hp n/a.. and that was used for several seasons of dirt track racing.. put it this way, its in your tune... if your tune is good it doesn't matter what your block is, if your tune isn't good, it doesn't matter what you block is...

  • @drewsky121

afm, php, lidio are big names when comes to tuning and ed curtis seen blocks crack. i shouldve said main web tend to crack b4 block as u know from being in a shop that that can lead to as mentioned good bye block. So with no valley girdles or main support/girdle ur saying u see 700hp last on daily basis for a good yr or two on stock block. Hell ive even seen a 4bolt block walk before. Hell before I could only get 50+ runs outa my engine before it needed align honed til i got girdle

  • @drewsky121 I would like to know what shop u work at bc if ur tune can stop main web cracks in block i need u bc i know a lot of ppl that can use ur help. A tune can stop reciprocating force which can overwhelm the main bearing caps and the fasteners that hold them in place so under heavy loads, the caps will shift or “walk” from side to side and all this is transferred to the ends of the main cap fasteners, causing the threads to become fatigued eventually causin main web crack.

  • @saleensonoma didn't you just kind of answer your question? i'm confused, i feel like you're arguing with me but you proved my point.. like you said a tune can stop the force that prevents the caps to thread, so what you said I completely agree, having a good tune prevents such happening..

  • @saleensonoma and if you think a main girdle is going to stop a crack, i think different. when it comes down to it, its all about harmonics, and what does that girdle do? transfer harmonics to the entire block instead of just one section.. idk my opinion man thats all

  • kurgan!! FTW!

  • turbo v8's sound amazing

  • Nice setup. Is your block still in one piece?

  • @boosted92civic You are talking about a CAST IRON block dude, not an aluminum block like those lil 2 liter engines.

  • Nice setup. My car is at South Texas Performance right now getting a B&G kit put in. Your car gives me an idea of what to expect. Awesome numbers!

  • Thats frigging sweet!!!! I was going to go w/ a B&G kit before I decided to stay NA. What song is this in your video? The ending is kick ass

  • nice 5 stars...

Can you tell us how the BG Turbo instlalation went?? What issues did you encounter if any?? What BOV etc were chosen?
