Hey, i'm trying to learn sign language but my girlfriend doesn't know well american sign language. i was learning but she told me that i forget about that because not all the words in american sign language are the same. are there other different types of sign language learning? if so please link me up or just tell me which different versions of sign language there are.

You mean, interpreters. Yes, when someone call to their service, there are many interpreter available but instead the machine choose one interpreter.

@nativehoney5 If you use a VRS phone it will connect to an interpreter if the number is for a hearing person. If the number you are dialing is going to another deaf, it is basically the same idea as two hearing people using their phones.

This was hard to read usa sign lang, we're from aussie and the phone has a lamp setting which goes off and on if you watch it closely the kitchen lamp flashes, thats how they know the phone is ringing... cheers

Only you can see that they're Deaf when you see them SIGN. But really, Deaf is pretty much SAME as Hearing but the only difference is, THEY CAN'T HEAR. That's it.

Mickyshaun: VideoPhone (VP) communications have very bright blinking lights that are difficult to ignore or miss so when a person calls, the VP flashes and will capture your attention at nearly any angle. I'm Deaf. I use a VP and can easily notice when I'm receiving a call even if I'm not looking in the general direction of the VP. I hope this answers your question and glad you asked it. :-)

I knew a deaf couple a long time ago, and visited them several times. I saw that they had flashing lights for the phone and doorbell...but they didn't have this service, they used a TTY. There was a similar service available, but it was not computer based, was TTY based.
