i have never seen another helicopter look like this one..did they do this custom made for the show airwolf...never seen a model like that anywhere else...too bad..because it's the coolest helicopter ever!! and the sound it makes when he pushes the speed button or what it's called, you gotta love it man=)

Because of a thing called "retreating blade stall" you cant have a helicopter that flies faster than the air going over the retreating rotor blade. there would be no lift generated and the helicopter would crash.

I wonder if US millitary why us millitary never came up with an Airwolf for real? Cause I think it could've been done in the 80's in the height of the cold war. this chopper would've kicked ass of anything ruskies ever had in their arsenal. of course, ruskies would in return try to come up with same or better

The AH-64 Apache was already out when this show came out. The Apache would make mincemeat out of Airwolf. :) I think Airwolf was cool, too, but the technology available to the U.S. military would relegate Airwolf to a museum at that time.

Buddy, what are you talking about? This chopper has MACH 1 CAPABILITIES, as well as all the features of the apache (except the rototing machine gun). On the contrary AIRWOLF would make mincemeat out of the Apaches.

and don't forget airwolf also equipped with a laser gun as well. so if missiles and guns don't kill the apache opponent, those lasers certainly will, with the "mach 1" speed of course.

I loved this show growing up, even when they had reruns on USA Network I watched it. I mostly remember the episode when they changed the color of the copter when they disguised it for some kind of trap to get a helicopter thief. They kept it with the white belly after that.

A few months back, there was a Bell painted just like this one up for sale. A little out of my league and the guy said that it WOULD NOT outrun a MIG-21 through MIG-29. Also, it didnt have the "chain gun" and "boost" options. So, I had to pass on that particular one.
