  • He wrote all of his songs that I know of. He is the greatest singer songwriter of our time. I got up today and played farther on and Looking into You for my man while he got ready for work. We love JB and he is timeless.

  • I just know I should know this one, which album did he record this on? Somebody...Hope someone will write and know the answer.

  • @dminton245 It was unrecorded, but might remind you of From Silver Lake on his Saturate Before Using album.

  • How did someone so young write these songs of experience so brilliantly? So nice to have discovered him again.

  • I have been a fan since 1972 and had never heard this, just the bit that is within From Silverlake. Thank you jbfan for posting!

  • incredibly awesome

  • I can't believe he didn't release this! It's so beautiful, and style wise, kinda different than some of his other songs, but still filled with that same sadness that only JB's music can express with so much feeling- he's always been so wise and worldly beyond his years.

  • I'm very much reminded of "Song For Adam" with this one !!!

  • @easyjock maybe you meant "From silver lake?"

  • Sad and peaceful at the same time... Very touching... Beautiful... Thank you, Karima.

  • Beautiful :-)))

  • @pontepolentepontepi Grazie Lu! for taking the time to watch & leave nice comments!

  • Yeah Koko and mine too;-)

thanks for being here~~ Peace & Love

  • That's the end of "Song for Adam".

  • i think you mean "silver lake"

  • Can't help but love this one. J.B. has a simple and pure beauty in his youth; many of his early lyrics show a vulnerability and need for love. Wonder if they were a true story . . . Thanks for the tenderness and thanks later for the gentle strength, J.B.

  • agreed with comment below sad but beautiful

  • beautiful video Kari:-)

  • I love this one

  • great song

  • nice - but very sad - video, karima.

    david

  • "great" to see you here David!! yes indeed sad song.. Jackson Browne left no doubt about his songwriting genius, an artistic triumph in the truest sense of the word, some events in his life seem to have dramatically impacted his music. The remarkable thing is how he relates this melancholy theme without depressing us.

  • so so beautiful...as he is....a treat as i have not heard this one before....

  • JB is one of the best writers ever!

  • agreed

  • nice song.

  • If you listen carefully to the final verse of "From Silver Lake" from Jackson Browne's debut album, you can hear his background singers singing this song, Gone To Sorrow, in counterpoint to the melody of From Silver Lake.

  • Am I wrong here,.....was this song, or a portion of it, used as the "counter-melody" on "From Silver Lake" from Jackson Browne's first album?

  • you're not wrong. the criterion demos is not an official album, JB was making some demo recordings which were intended to be used to promote his first album.

  • Like it!
