Now in Season 6 we see two parallel universes. Everything is the same, there on the island and the bomb didn't work. We also see everyone on the plane going about there lives as if nothing happens at all. My theory is we are seeing two different times, so were seeing the end of the story, on the island, and what they do leads up to them being on the plane with nothing wrong. That way we see how it ends, and what life would be like without the island..... thats just my theory

Jacob didnt seen bothered that Ben had a big knife in his hand, he just took it like a man, maybe knew he was coming back somehow.

its not locke who found the loop hole it was jacobs enemy or jacobs brother appearing as locke. light vs dark. and the smoke monster(ALSO JACOBS ENEMY OR BROTHER THAT WAS ON THE BEACH) can take forms of bodies that arent buried yet. think about it.

Whether its reset or an alternate timeline, or even something similar to what Desmond experienced in 'Flashes before your eyes', it defo happens as its been filmed, the airport set recreated, the works.

I think the alternate timeline may have started from the point Desmond turned the failsafe key, he went back in time and altered events slightly, (as hes 'special') and this has caused a butterfly effect

I think that the "two players" each have a different view on the human race. Jacob is the optimist while the MiB (man in black) is the pessimist. The MiB is trying to prove Jacob wrong. Maybe more at stake tho.

Keep in mind, that the MiB takes the form of the dead and manipulates characters. Jacob doesn't. When Jacob appears it is as himself.

MiB= deceit, manipulation. Jacob= up front, calm and offers a choice. (like telling ben he had a choice or hurley coming back up to him.) just my opinion.

yeah that makes sense...me and my freind had a theory that jacob was appearing as other people but the writer dude at comic con said jacob never did anything like that so.....but about the choice i think that they dont have one..jacob touched all the losties he visited and i think that somehow manipulated them...but i guess we will see in early 2010, cant wait!

Agreed. They way they set up that scene with the real body found and Jacob's comment before he burned would be pointless if the crash had been averted. Also: if you rewatch the Dharma video for the Swan station you will notice that Dr Chang, man of many names, has a prosthetic hand. The same hand that was crushed during the finale. Jack and co didn't change a thing, they created the events that led to the crash of flight 815.

You never know ;) Locke's legs were healed, but during a few important events, his legs were disabled somehow (ie. with Boone and the heroine plane, or while moving the wheel). Changed circumstances in Lost that involve the magnetic energy of the island have a strange way of developing in fearful symmetry.

The thing is tho, season 3 established that fate can't really be changed and that if something has gone wrong, time does a course correction. Remember what Eloise Hawking told Desmond during his time flashes or Desmond's attempts to "save" Charlie? If Jack was successful, which i doubt, flight 815 would still crash on the island one way or another.

Agreed, the character is written to be a real genius but I think the character was pretty desperate to do anything to avert Charlotte's death and may have been wrong this time. The plane crash getting averted and everything that happened being erased is too easy. Its like cheating the audience and stating to us "we just made you waste all these seasons watching..the joke's on you" kinda thing. (like when "Dallas" used to be on and they did that its all been a dream thing. pissed fans off lol) :)

Yes. And though Faraday thought he would be able to change the future, why wouldnt he had come up with the same idea in the "unchanged" timeline and come up with the theory of variables. But the most weird thing is, if the time was not reset, how did all the people (Jack, Kate, Dr. Chang etc.) survive the H-bomb? because as far as I know, theyre quite big
