it is about havign fluidity - how many martial arts are based on dancing; or are exceptionally similar to dancing? what part is key in boxing and other arts; the footwork . . . the hip movement, the general relativity of all the body parts working together . . .
Yes, i understand that, i have practiced aikido for many years.........but even with aikido it seems now that its almost like training the attckers in the gym to fall and when in real combat the reactions of the attackers are different and un expected
yeah - i get what you mean; it is the same in most arts; i think bruce lee made a good comment on it;
"you need emotional content, not anger!"
in other words it is down to the indvidual and their wish to carry out the action - it doesn't neccesarily matter about the training in the gym, though it would be best if they replicated the aggression of a real-fight, which is what some more advanced systema classes and instructors do . . .
plus some different martial arts instructors full stop : ]
I know what ya mean- in karate you defend against person steps forward while punching... in aikido, much of the time, you defend attackers lunging forward... In kung fu it takes years to be fast and accurate...
They all have their ups and downs... By the way, many systema punches are very effective.
well rmbr that u can train as much as u want but when it comes to real battle someone may not be ready to it, they may not have the mental capacity to aply ur techiques
and in some dojos u are used to fight to ppl that use the same techniques and and u know wat will they do but a techniqueless guy at the street is harder to expect his movments
i am familiar in aikido, i train in kung fu san soo, and we use a lot of the same leverages you guys do, and the reason ur trained to fall automatically is because in real life one of two things will happen to the real attacker, he will either seriously injure an arm or a leg, or he'll end up with a concussion, now if u werent trained to fall smoothly and automatically, i imagine ud be taking daily trips to the hospital, just wanted to clear that up for u
that only works against non trained people..I stay with the traditional martial arts.

at 10 seconds it wouldnt look amiss on the dance floor.
I have to say i am still a little sceptical of systema in the whole
there are good bits, but theres still a lot of flannel that goesalong with that good
