Over 10 minute video back in 2006?! My NEC slim DVD RWs I just got were made in Aug 06, and one was tested, working. THAT'S OLD. I still had a job back then. I just got the HDDVD and it was only $5 as just the drive itself, no power! haha No disc for the driver either

these are much nicer now that they are discontinued, I picked one up a few months ago along with 6 HD DVDs for just 60 bucks and other HD DVDs are really cheap and look great, plus 2 more USB ports. even without new movies coming out it really is a great thing to have

360 exclusives are on PC too (including Mass Effect, Gears 1, Last Remnant, L4D and Alan Wake, Splinter Cell conviction L4D2)

In my eyes this drive is not worth it at all. This is coming from a 360/PS3 owner,its just one more thing Microsoft screwed up on.The 360 should have came being able to play HD DVD already just like how PS3 can play BLU-Ray.If u have a 360 and are looking for a great movie player BLU-Ray players have come down in price A LOT! i saw one for 99.99 CND on boxing day (probly not a top of the line though).It is proven to be the better format so why not. Its just not worth it,and if u own a PS3 enjoy!

Blu-Ray has yet to prove its potential but that doesn't mean it WON'T. MGS4 apparently uses the format to its fullest extent with uncompressed audio and some truly outstanding visuals.

As long as you enjoy your games, nothing anybody else says really matters. =)

that is true but at the moment there are far more great games for the 360 than there are for the PS3, which makes the 360 better than the ps3 as a games console, however if you are looking for something to watch films on the Playstation 3 is much better.

if you happen to own an xbox 360 and an HDTV, the HD-DVD drive at 50 dollars is a steal. since the format is essentially "dead" that means the movies are going to be much cheaper than blu-ray titles. just because HD-DVD lost the format war that doesnt mean all 350+ HD-DVD titles or your HD-DVD player will suddenly stop working.

Nice vid, in my opinion the only reason Blu-Ray is currently in front is because of PS3, according to statistics out of all HD Standalone players HD DVD is 53% and Blu-Ray is 47% so if PS3 didn't have Blu-Ray then HD DVD would have won by now.
