I'm finding tons of videos on pompadours. I'm kinda spoiled in that my hair will naturally go into a pompadour if I simply slick it back. I don't even have to style it into one, it's like I was genetically designed to be a greaser. Anyway, can't seem to find any videos on the 50's water fall haircut which usually had a duck tail in the back and side burns. Seems every greaser has a pomp or just slicked back hair. I know it sounds childish, but I want something different.

Damn, my pomp is good, but it's not as straight, is your hair completely straight naturally? mine is wavy, so I think if I grow it out to pomp it like this, it might not be straight and I might have to cut again. I use Layrite, rob's chop shop 20 weight and murrays on occasion, but murrays is horrible, so should I grow it so there's no "hole" behind the front of the pomp if you know what I mean.

@roddykollias8098 I don't think murrays will ruin your hair but you should completely wash it out at least once a week so your follicles can breathe. It's a myth that pomade makes your hair fall out. You shed hundreds of hairs a day but with pomade those hairs can't fall out. If you use too much pomade and have to pull your comb through your hair with a good amount of force then you can break or pull out your hair.

@roddykollias8098 My experience is that some friends who did nothing to damage their hair ended up balding anyway while others who put tons of crap on their heads growing up (knox gelatin for mohawks, murrays pomade for rockabilly hair cuts) somehow still have hair going on 40. Balding is genetic. If you're not balding, than don't worry about it. However, if you are, stay away from gels, pomades, waxes, etc. I'm starting to thin & certain products made by Axe sped up the unwanted process : (
