I remember there being a massive explosion of Dry Ice at the end of this show when the Stay Puft exploded? (similar to T2:3D) which is why I always thought the Ghostbusters show was in the T2:3D building! Doesn't seem to be on this video... please tell me I'm not imagining things!
They failed to renew the rights from Columbia? If that happened, then why do they still have "Men in Black: Alien Attack?" That movie is also owned by them.
hey jeff, im AJ and just wanna say thanx for posting this, man! out of all the attractions they replaced, this is my 1/3 top favorites (the hanna barbera is 2nd). I remember going on this since i was only a year old and my dad recorded this but its on vhs. so my questions are: how did you put this video on youtube and is it possible to put it on DVD? (im kinda new at this youtube stuff and im trying to figure out how to put a video recorded in vhs online, soo....)
no prob, man, xcept my name's not Jeff (lol)! I still can't believe (like u) tht they basically gutted the park out by putting all the good attractions in extinction (hopefully the 3rd film will bring the boys in grey back). as for ur Q on my vid, i hav an internal TV tuner card w/ AV PnP allowing me 2 record from my VCR 2 my desktop, thn i cropped the film down w/ Adobe Premiere 2 give it the right file extension ( i kno, it's a mouthful).
i believe it was the maintanance for the stage and effects which became difficult to keep in working order. Either that or Universal's failure to renew the franchise contract.
I don't think it was the contract. After all they had that riducolous show where these guys that look nothing like the movie characters battle Bettlejuice. I'm not sure battle is the word. All they did was dance around.
@cancerman50 don't even remind me of tht poor excuse 4 a show. after they got rid of spooktacular, all i could imagine people sayin, " The horror!! The...HOR-AAHH!!"
Thanks for posting. I worked on this in '89-'90, part of team that created the neutrono energy wand effects. Nice to have a record of the work. Much obliged.
Not a problem, man. I treasure this footage a lot because I was only 2 yrs. old when I saw it and had a fun time remastering the video and sound for it. I miss this show the most out of all the attractions replaced.
They do not sound anything like the ghostbusters!

This has been flagged as spam show
The true reason why the ghostbusters are gone because my cousin marva told me
a guest went into the show very sick and then when it got to the action part got too
sick and sued universal and was responsible the closure.that is the true reason why
warning say if anyone is sick cannot go in the show if it make them more sick it was
a female guest.

oh then they replace with the beetlejuice concert if you know what i mean
rowdyroughman 2 years ago
Actually Universal did not renew the contract.
Davealicious21 2 years ago
@videogameMCP It was the renewal issue. They replaced it with a crappy Twister ride. I say they could have done better than that.

Because they wanted to do something with Twister, which I think is still in that slot. Why did they replace King Kong with The Mummy?
