How I felt then is very much like how you felt in this video. I have friends who have still never lost anyone before. They don't understand.

This February my doctors told me I don't have a chance of getting better. Even if we could put the WG into remission, the structure of my windpipe has been destroyed. Run 30 yards and then breathe through a straw-- just an approximation of my 24/7. I thought I had another 60 years to live but at this point 6 would be really stretching it. It's a hard pill to swallow.
People are here briefly. Some of them mean something to us and we are just lucky to find them. I miss my dead friends and family but I'm glad I had time with them. I hope you can enjoy the good memories.
Death happens; you'll find new friends. I'm sure you won't find another Sarah, but that's what's so great about the world... so many people, so many experiences.
i'm sorry to see you in pain. ordinarily i don't leave comments on videos, but you said something that bothered me, perhaps because i can relate to it. to paraphrase: why would god take someone so good, and leave someone like me. a good friend of mine died at 19, way back in '92, and i remember saying something quite similar. he was so young, and seemed to have such a bright future; he was good at everything he tried, and universally well-liked.
i did not hold myself in particularly high esteem at the time, and could not comprehend the injustice of his death and my continued existence. the platitude 'only the good die young' was so sophmoric and could offer neither justification nor consolation; and my faith, scant as it was, was insufficient to deal with the unfairness of it all.
i have since lost my faith, and all the psychological baggage and rationalizations and contradictions that accompanied it, and have learned that there really is no morality behind whatever causes some to suffer and die before their time. nature is amoral and does not care whether we live or die, and while this may seem harsh, it beats a supposedly all-loving god who just happens to snuff us out every once in a while for his own capricious reasons.
We all know we are going to die, and we all do die. It's only a matter of degree between those who die when young and those who die when old. Certainly, you should not have any kind of... survivor's guilt, simply because you live when a friend dies, no matter at what age.
