The DS is capable of so much more than this. (Look at Mario and Zelda, for example) I think the developers got a bit (more like very) lazy on this version of the game. The Wii version (and 360/PS3, since those versions were the same) was fantastic. One of the best games I've ever played. I even cried twice during the story because it gripped me so much. This looks really stupid and gives the wrong impression of Spyro.

@royfox2010 do you have a ps2? because i play all three games on the ps2, they are exactly the same as playing it on the ps3, and i would suggest dont get the ds versions. While side scrolling can sometimes be fun, the freeson in the playstattion versions is just fantastic! hours of new gameplay, and so on. Your imagination can take your further than the actual story sometimes! :D I now also realize that you posted this three months ago sorry. but i still stand by what i said.

why wasnt all levels like the flying leves, in 3D? and why did you fly past what was half the game on stationary versions in one mission? The gameplay, music and design is excellent, but I cleared this on a week and because you cant replay old levels again I sold it. I miss it sometimes.
@GRR2530330 a little bit, for example, all that forest levels that is around that flood, you know, is comprimated and you fly past them in a 5 min. mission. you do some cave levels, and then fly to the dragon city and fighting the siege.

I have this game for ds. I like the gameplay, they keep the real voice actors for cutscenes, and somewhat difficult bosses, but it's way too short. I beat all of it 100% in less than an hour.
So I have beat Malefor several times in Spyro: Dawn of the Dragon for nintendo DS and after it goes to a cut scene where it ends with Cynder saying "I love you" to Spyro then it just takes me back to the main screen!
I thought maybe I had hit something so I went back in and loaded the game but it just took me to Malefor and then after beating him it did the same thing again.
Is this the end of the game?!?!!? It honestly took me less then 10 minutes to get to this part!
I like this game but i'm stuck -_-' lol. the part at 0:32 that level where you have to knock the pillars down, i only need one more but i have no idea how to get to it. I know where it is and can see it sometimes but not how to get to it. It isn't the one where you use spyro with the lightning door thing it another one. Could anyone help?? :P lol

@kieran007s Nah Spyro isn't dead if you play the older games and I still found these games fun even though they aren't anywhere near the perfection that the original three were. I heard of another Spyro game in the works and may end up being announced at this year's E3.
Funny thing to say, search for some videos of Spyro 1, 2 and 3 (the ORIGINAL Spyro series) and you'll notice something very remarkable; those are platform games :O

I think the PS3 is the version of the game for this. It has the best graphics out of all the versions and the quality is fantastic! I just wish they made a version for PSP and that you could play 2 player online! :D :D

They fucked over Crash on DS too. Last year he had a brilliant 3D game and this year a shitty boring 2D sidescroller that I literally fell asleep playing.
It didnt have screenshots on the box either, and the developers didnt list themselves in the credits probably because they are so ashamed of the abomination they produced.
But yeah, both Crash/Spyro's DS games this year were really poor.
Spyro has completely gone downhill from his first set of games:
1.Spyro the dragon
2.Spyro: Ripto's Rage
3.Spyro: year of the dragon The original producer was Insomniac, and they did a much better job. Sierra has completely ruined the Spyro series. They made spyro much too serious. In hero's tail, he sounded like he was either sick or dieng. Many hope that the original series will be resurrected, but it's chances are quite slim...

Hmm, seems like people are being lazy when developing games for the DS.
Remember that the DS is more powerful than a Nintendo 64, which was two times as powerful as a Sony Playstation.
Personally, I expect more... from the developers and from Spyro.

I think the PS3 is the version of the game for this. It has the best graphics out of all the versions and the quality is fantastic! I just wish they made a version for PSP and that you could play 2 player online! :D :D

They fucked over Crash on DS too. Last year he had a brilliant 3D game and this year a shitty boring 2D sidescroller that I literally fell asleep playing.
It didnt have screenshots on the box either, and the developers didnt list themselves in the credits probably because they are so ashamed of the abomination they produced.
But yeah, both Crash/Spyro's DS games this year were really poor.

Spyro has completely gone downhill from his first set of games:
1.Spyro the dragon
2.Spyro: Ripto's Rage
3.Spyro: year of the dragon The original producer was Insomniac, and they did a much better job. Sierra has completely ruined the Spyro series. They made spyro much too serious. In hero's tail, he sounded like he was either sick or dieng. Many hope that the original series will be resurrected, but it's chances are quite slim...

I completely agree with you - I only have Year of the Dragon but I'd like to play the others ~ onyl reason I keep my PS1 is so I can play it from time to time - the new games suck ass and yes Insomniac we
